The Woodfill pellets are a material from the ColorFabb portfolio. They are made of 70 % PLA/PHA and 30 % recycled wood fiber. The base of these pellets, PLA/PHA, is a mix of PLA (polylactic acid) with PHA, also known as polyhydroxyalkanoates. It is a bio-polyester produced in nature by the action of bacteria by fermentation of sugar or lipids, and also a biodegradable plastic used in the production of biopolymers. PLA/PHA demonstrates greater strength than pure PLA

The Woodfill pellets will emit a pleasant wood smell during 3D printing and the 3D printed parts will have a stunning natural surface finish. It must be kept in mind that the color of the pellets may vary between batches due to the nature of the resources used for the production of the pellets.

The Woodfill pellets are perfect for the additive manufacturing of various decorative objects or prototypes with the help of FGF manufacturing solutions such as the CEAD AM Flexbot solution, the CEAD E25 extruder, the Mahor V4 pellet extruder, or the Dyze Pulsar extruder. It is also possible to manufacture personalized 3D printing filament from the Woodfill pellets with the help of the Felfil ecosystem.

The proper storage of 3D printing materials is key to smooth extrusion, and great surface quality and mechanical properties of the 3D printed part. The ColorFabb Woodfill pellets should be stored in a closed package in dry conditions at temperature below 50 ºC, protected from UV-light at all times. If the pellets absorb excess moisture, they should be dried for 6 hours at 55 ºC (dehumidifying dryer preferred). The recommended processing temperature for the Woodfill pellets is 170-190 ºC.
