Liqcreate's portfolio of engineering 3D printing resins includes, among many others, ESD resin, characterised by its smooth opaque black finish, its ESD safety properties and its compatibility with most SLA, DLP and LCD 3D printers in the 385-420 nm range.
ESD resin can be easily 3D printed on equipment such as Anycubic Photon printers, the Creality Halot One or Phrozen resin printers (more information on compatibility here). 3D printed parts are characterised by rigidity with some bending ability and good impact resistance. This makes this resin suitable for the production of parts that must withstand constant use in the factory.
Parts 3D printed with Liqcreate ESD resin act as an electrostatic discharge dissipater, providing a safe evacuation path for electrostatic discharges, away from sensitive electronic devices that could suffer critical or latent damage as a result of an ESD event. These properties make ESD resin the perfect material for additive manufacturing of parts for ESD safe workspaces (EPA), e.g. custom jigs, fixtures, tools, housings, etc.

The Liqcreate resin bottles should be stored in a clean and dry environment, out of direct sunlight and in a temperature of 5-30 ºC. Before use, the resin bottle should be shaken energetically for at least 1 minute (at least 3 minutes in the case of filled resins). Once shaken, the resin should be left to rest for around 10 minutes to let the air bubble escape. Leftover resin can be poured back into the bottle but it should be first filtered to ensure there is no polymer residue present. Safety equipment such as protective garments, gloves and face protection is highly recommended for the handling of resin.
The post-processing workflow for the ESD resin is quite user-friendly. First, the 3D printed part has to be cleaned for a maximum of 6 minutes in Liqcreate Resin Cleaner, IPA alcohol or bioethanol, preferably ultrasonic or under agitation. Then the completely dried part has to be cured in a high-power UV curing chamber. The curing workflow is explained in detail by the manufacturer here. It absolutely crucial that the parts are dry before they are cured. The curing of wet or sticky parts will lead to mechanical and surface defects. The drying can be done by simply leaving the cleaned part in a well ventilated area for at least 30 minutes or with the help of pressurized air (2 minutes) for parts cleaned in IPA alcohol or ethanol.
