Dental resin for the fast, accurate and odorless printing of dental models and aligners.

The Liqcreate versatile portfolio of 3D printing resins includes the Premium Model resin designed especially for the manufacturing orthodontic models and aligner models. The Premium Model resin is skin/peach colored and optimized for odorless high speed printing on LCD and DLP 3D printers. The produced dental models manifest excellent dimensional stability, low shrinkage and accurate details accentuated with a matte finish.

An additional advantage of working with the Liqcreate Premium Model resin is that it supports vacuum forming temperatures for the manufacturing of dental aligners. This way, a dental model 3D printed with the Premium Model resin can be safely and successfully used together with a thermoforming machine to make easily removable, accurate and reliable molds. It should also be kept in mind that the Premium Model resin and objects printed with it should not be used for applications inside the human body.

Furthermore, the Premium Model resin can be used on many open source 3D printers by brands such as Uniz, Anycubic, Creality or Phrozen thanks to the wide range of compatible light sources (385-420 nm). The full list of compatible printers is available here.

The post-processing workflow for the Premium Model resin is quite user-friendly. First, the 3D printed part has to be cleaned for a maximum of 6 minutes in Liqcreate Resin Cleaner, IPA alcohol or bioethanol, preferably ultrasonic or under agitation. Then the completely dried part has to be cured in a high-power UV curing chamber. The curing workflow is explained in detail by the manufacturer here. It absolutely crucial that the parts are dry before they are cured. The curing of wet or sticky parts will lead to mechanical and surface defects. The drying can be done by simply leaving the cleaned part in a well ventilated area for at least 30 minutes or with the help of pressurized air (2 minutes) for parts cleaned in IPA alcohol or ethanol.

The Liqcreate resin bottles should be stored in a clean and dry environment, out of direct sunlight and in a temperature of 5-30 ºC. Before use, the resin bottle should be shaken energetically for at least 1 minute (at least 3 minutes in the case of filled resins). Once shaken, the resin should be left to rest for around 10 minutes to let the air bubble escape. Leftover resin can be poured back into the bottle but it should be first filtered to ensure there is no polymer residue present. Safety equipment such as protective garments, gloves and face protection is highly recommended for the handling of resin.
