Dental resin developed for the manufacture of non-medical gingival masks.

Dental resins are materials specifically developed for the dental field, where the use of this type of technology is becoming more and more common. A wide variety of dental resins with specific properties according to the application for which they were designed can be found in the market. We can currently find resins optimised to cover some of the most demanding applications in this sector, such as 3D printing of models, surgical guides or dental prostheses, among others.

In order to meet the most demanding needs of the dental sector, the prestigious multinational chemical company BASF has developed a line of light-curable resins known as Ultracur3D DM, compatible with the main resin 3D printing technologies using wavelengths of 385 nm or 405 nm.

This new line of resins is the result of extensive research and testing. As a result, Ultracur3D DM resins are advanced reactive urethane photopolymers, designed specifically for key dental applications such as models, moulds and gingival masks.

The Ultracur3D DM resin line has two products:

  • Ultracur3D DM 2505
  • Ultracur3D DM 2304

Ultracur3D DM dental resins are highly resistant and allow for detailed, high-precision 3D impressions.

Ultracur3D DM 2505 is a beige coloured resin, developed specifically for 3D printing applications such as dental models, thermoforming moulds and other dental applications.

Ultracur3D DM 2505 resin stands out from other resins for dental models in that it does not require chemicals for post-processing, as parts printed with this material can be washed out with water.

BASF Ultracur3D DM dental resins enable dental practices and laboratories to quickly manufacture a variety of dental products in-house, providing immediacy and reducing the per-piece cost of these products.

BASF Ultracur3D resins are highly sensitive to light and should therefore always be stored in closed containers away from light.

Before starting an impression, the resin should be shaken well and, if possible, placed under vacuum to remove any bubbles that may have formed.

This resin does not require washing with Isopropyl alcohol. Parts 3D printed with this material can be washed with water.
