Facilan PCL 100 filament is a homopolymer of polycaprolactone, a semi-crystalline aliphatic polyester, fully biodegradable and non-toxic, with a white final appearance, a glass transition temperature of -60 °C and a printing temperature of about 120 °C.

It is manufactured from a raw material produced in accordance with the European regulations EC No 1935/2004 and EC No 10/2011 for plastic materials and articles in contact with food.

Facilan PCL 100 is a very flexible and tough filament. The material has incredible interlayer adhesion, which means greatly improved impact resistance, strength, durability and printability. Due to its low melting point (around 60°C), Facilan PCL100 filament can be remoulded in water at 55°C after printing, which is useful in applications where the 3D printed object must conform to, for example, a patient's body.

Facilan PCL 100 is used by many leading universities and research centres worldwide for bioprinting and medical research. Its applications for medical research include artificial tracheas, tissue engineering scaffolds, bioabsorbable implants, drug-loaded implants, orthopaedic devices, orthodontic braces, smart materials and other cutting-edge applications. However, Facilan PCL 100 filament is not yet licensed for use in medical applications involving permanent implantation in the human body.

Facilan PCL 100 filament should be 3D printed at 130-170°C at 10-30 mm/s, on a bed heated to 30-45°C, with the layer fan set to 100%. To allow cold extrusion (below 170°C), "M302 S120" should be added at the beginning of the g-code.

Regarding the adhesion to the bed, the manufacturer recommends the use of Ultimaker adhesion films or PEI surfaces. The recommended support material for Facilan PCL 100 filament is water soluble PVA or breakaway support.
