PLA Timberfill filament from Fillamentum offers a unique 3D printing experience by combining 100% bio-based composition with natural fibers sourced from spruce (15 %). Similarly to pure PLA (derived from natural resources such as starch from corn, sugar beet and wheat), PLA Timberfill is biodegradable in industrial conditions, and RoHS compliant. While retaining PLA's mechanical properties, models produced with Timberfill boast an authentic wooden appearance accompanied by a temporary wood scent, as well as rigidity and low britlness. Available in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm diameters on 750 g spools, this filament empowers users to create wood-like parts in captivating hues like Cinnamon, Champagne, Charcoal, or Terracotta.

Printing with PLA Timberfill filaments is a straightforward process compatible with any FFF/FDM 3D printer (no heated chamber required), with reduced warping and shrinking. Achieving optimal results, especially at higher printing speeds, is recommended, as slower speeds may risk degradation or burning of the natural fibers, potentially leading to jams. To accommodate the fillers present in the filament, using a 0.5 mm nozzle for 1.75 mm filament and a 0.6/0.8 mm nozzle for 2.85 mm filament is advised. Nevertheless, PLA Timberfill is not abrasive to the nozzle. Various heated bed surfaces such as PEI, mirror/glass, Kapton, Blue tape, and LockPAd are suitable for printing Timberfill, while effective adhesion can be achieved using Magigoo, 3DLac, or PVA glue.

The PLA Timberfill filament is a premium quality filament due to the high quality standards in which it is manufactured. Strict control throughout the entire manufacturing process ensuries high accuracy of diameter dimensions such as diameter tolerance ± 0.05 mm, with excellent roundness and without any chemical impurities for better filament viscosity. By setting high standards of quality, Fillamentum ensures excellent color consistency throughout the spool and across batches to always gurantee the highest quality of the 3D printed parts.

What's more, the PLA Timberfill filament is perfectly rolled onto the spool, which prevents printing problems caused by overlap winding of the filament. Another feature that contributes to the premium quality of this filament is the fact that it comes in a resealable bag pouch that protects it from moisture and UV rays. Therefore, PLA Timberfill filament is a high quality 3D printing filament fully stabilized for excellent finishes with the highest reliability and ease of 3D printing.

Post-processing PLA Timberfill parts offers a range of creative possibilities to enhance their appearance further. Sanding the printed parts with fine-grit sandpaper allows for refining the surface texture, smoothing out any imperfections, and achieving desired finishes. Additionally, staining the parts with wood stains or dyes provides an opportunity to customize the color and deepen the natural wood-like appearance, adding depth and character to the final product. Whether it's sanding for a polished finish or staining for personalized aesthetics, post-processing opens avenues for creativity and refinement in PLA Timberfill prints, allowing users to achieve unique and professional-looking results.
