Igus is a German brand of filaments and plastics with special properties. They specialise in creating filaments for 3D printing with high friction resistance, up to 50 times higher than conventional materials.

Iglidur A350, an abrasion and high temperature resistant filament, is temperature resistant up to 180°C, flame retardant according to UL94-V0 and can be steam sterilised, i.e. steam under pressure in an autoclave, eliminating any form of microbial life by denaturing the proteins within the microorganisms.

Due to its high processing temperature of between 340-360°C and a mandatory installation temperature of a minimum of 160°C, a high-temperature 3D printer is required.

iglidur A350 is a filament that stands out mainly for being suitable for food contact. It is focused on the food and packaging industry as it complies with the EU 10/2011 and FDA food contact regulations, so its main applications range from prototypes to mass production.

On the other hand, it is not recommended to use this filament when high wear resistance is required or if the 3D printer used does not have a heated chamber of up to 180º.

This filament absorbs moisture easily so it is recommended to store it in a drying container such as Printdry or in a case such as Fiber Three Safe to avoid problems when printing.
