Mayku Multiplier
When precision parts are required, creators often turn to silicone molding or outsource production to specialized third parties. To give full control of the process back to makers, eliminate unnecessary lead times, and streamline workflows, Mayku developed the Mayku Multiplier, a desktop pressure forming machine that matches the accuracy and sharp detail of injection molding.
With the Mayku Multiplier, users can create highly precise molds for prototyping, tooling, end-use parts, or packaging in under 5 minutes thanks to forming pressures of up to 4 bar (≈60 psi, over 5 tons of force), delivering industrial-grade quality and detail directly from the desktop.
The Mayku Multiplier features a circular forming area of Ø400 mm with a height of 160 mm and heating power of up to 220 ºC. It operates at a maximum power of 1500 W with universal power supply 110–240 VAC (12A/6A single-phase). Combined with the pressure generated under the dome (up to 4.1 bar and 12 bar in the tank), this enables ultra-precise molds and fully in-house production of final parts quickly, safely, and efficiently.
Its compact dimensions of 585 × 515 × 420 mm (unboxed) make it easy to integrate into workshops, labs, design studios, or educational environments.
The Mayku Multiplier incorporates a precision infrared sensor to monitor plastic temperature, a self-leveling function to ensure proper sheet positioning and prevent defects, and an integrated air outlet for quick accessory connections such as spray guns or pneumatic tools.
The system includes a high-contrast 720 × 720 pixel LCD screen that guides users step by step throughout the entire process, simplifying workflows and ensuring consistent results even for first-time users.
The machine is equipped with WiFi connectivity, allowing the system to stay up to date at all times. After registration, the firmware updates automatically to add new features, materials, and performance improvements.
The main difference between vacuum forming (Mayku Formbox) and pressure forming lies in the method used to shape the sheet to the mold. Instead of vacuum, the Mayku Multiplier uses pressurized air at four atmospheres to force the heated sheet into place, achieving higher definition, finer textures, and microscopic details (<1 μm).
In addition to sharing material compatibility with vacuum forming, pressure forming allows the use of thicker sheets: up to 5 mm standard thickness and up to 8 mm when using the A4 reducer plate, expanding possibilities for structural parts and demanding applications.
Pressure forming delivers greater detail, superior surface finish, tighter tolerances, and improved mechanical properties compared to traditional vacuum forming.
The Mayku Multiplier is compatible with a wide range of thermoplastic sheets, allowing it to adapt to different applications:
Most sheets are recyclable (except EVA) and can be easily cleaned with water.
The molds produced can be used with concrete, silicone, chocolate, gelatin, resin, water, foam, Jesmonite, or plaster, opening up a wide range of applications in engineering, architecture, product design, packaging, and culinary arts.
The Mayku Multiplier embodies the mission of bringing industrial manufacturing to the desktop, enabling fast, cost-effective, and fully in-house prototyping and short-run production.
It is ideal for rapid prototyping, production of tooling and jigs, creation of detailed end-use parts, and development of custom packaging. Companies can drastically reduce development times, going from days to hours while improving efficiency and quality control.
The machine is designed to operate in standard working environments, with an operating and storage temperature range of +5 to +40 °C, ensuring reliability and durability.
The manufacturer recommends keeping the Mayku Multiplier clean by wiping down surfaces with a microfibre cloth regularly to avoid any build up of dust and residue material. Mayku Multiplier will also display reminders on the user interface to drain the tanks in the machine (water is drawn from the atmosphere around it when compressing the air). To find out more about the maintenance of Mayku Multiplier visit the manufacturer's website.
Using the Mayku Multiplier is very easy and the user is guided through all the steps with prompts displayed on the user interface screen. The entire process of pressure forming with Mayku Multiplier is also explained in the video provided by the manufacturer.
In the Downloads section the user can find many resources such as a manual, a quick start guide and technical information about the Multiplier and the forming sheets.
