Developed for the specific needs of tabletop gaming enthusiasts, the TGM-7 resin from AmeraLabs stands out as a low-odor solution that cures quickly to perfection. Specifically designed for creating durable gaming miniatures, this resin features an impressive combination of properties. With a hard surface ranging from Shore 75-85D, it ensures that intricate details are captured flawlessly while offering a non-sticky, scratch-resistant surface that makes painting easy.

Like the AmeraLabs AMD-3 resin, TGM-7 resin is proud to deliver dimensionally accurate and stable parts, offering a fine balance between flexibility and strength. With mechanical properties showing a tensile strength at break of 35-40 MPa (ISO-527, post-curing) and an elongation at break of 42-52% (ISO-527, post-curing), you can be confident that your miniatures are reinforced against the demands of gaming.

The final properties (post-curing) of 3D printed miniatures made with TGM-7 resin may vary when exposed to harsh conditions such as excessive humidity, extremely dry atmospheres, and high temperatures (above 60 ºC) over extended periods. Therefore, this resin is not suitable for applications involving continuous exposure to water, organic solvents, and similar substances. If such properties are required, please refer to AmeraLabs AMD-3 resin.

Compatible 3D printers

TGM-7 3D resin is compatible with both MSLA (Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K, Anycubic Photon M5, Zortrax Inkspire, etc.) and DLP (Anycubic Photon Ultra or Photon D2) resin 3D printers with 365-420 nm light sources.

However, it is important to note that TGM-7 resin cannot be used with laser-based resin 3D printers that use PDMS-coated VAT trays (e.g., Formlabs 3D printers). The 3D printing profiles for this resin can be found here.

Post-processing

Regarding washing and post-curing, the recommended parameters will largely depend on the washing and curing equipment used. A complete guide for TGM-7 resin is available on the manufacturer’s website. This guide provides detailed post-processing recommendations.

TGM-7 resin is available in translucent, white, gray, standard gray, and graphite gray

Parts 3D printed with AmeraLabs TGM-7 resin can be post-processed after washing and post-curing. Since this resin is designed for gaming purposes, miniatures can be painted with excellent results. The resin is compatible with primers, coatings, and paints, allowing users to create highly customized tabletop gaming miniatures. Alternatively, colorants can be added to the resin before printing to produce directly colored details.

New variant: TGM-7 Graphite Gray

The TGM-7 range now includes the graphite gray color, a darker version with a more matte finish compared to the standard gray. This deeper tone reduces surface gloss and significantly improves fine detail visibility directly after printing, making it easier to evaluate print quality without immediate post-processing.

Unlike other resins in the TGM-7 range (translucent, white, or standard gray), graphite gray does not alter mechanical properties or printing parameters. It maintains the same formulation, strength, and curing behavior. The only difference is aesthetic and functional in terms of surface detail readability, making it the ideal option when quick visual inspection of the model is a priority.

Conclusion

Overall, AmeraLabs TGM-7 resin establishes itself as a well-balanced solution for tabletop gaming miniature printing, offering high precision, excellent mechanical properties, and a surface optimized to facilitate both painting and detail evaluation.

The addition of the new graphite gray further expands its possibilities, improving fine detail readability directly after printing without altering its technical properties, reinforcing the versatility of the range for users seeking consistent performance and maximum visual quality in their parts.

printing

on the ameralabs website the user can find a detailed guide on how to 3d print with the tgm-7 resin to achieve optimal results. for those who are only beginning their adventure with resin 3d printing, we recommend reading the beginner's guide to ameralabs resins as well as referring to the troubleshooting guide prepared by ameralabs in case any problems occur while 3d printing with the tgm-7 resin.

post-processing

parts 3d printed with the tgm-7 resin will achieve their specific properties only after being subjected to post-processing by washing and curing.

washing

ameralabs recommends using ipa alcohol for the washing and the washing time will largely depend on the washing equipment used. if a washing station is used, the average washing time is 12 minutes and a second wash if 6 minutes if required. if an ordinary bucket system and manual cleaning are used, the parts should be submerged for 10 minutes, swirled for 1 minute, submerged for another 10 minutes in clean ipa, and swirled again for 1 minute. since the tgm-7 resin has slightly higher viscosity than most 3d printing resins, parts 3d printed with it should not be left submerged in solvents for longer 40 minutes as it may damage the models or the part's final properties.

post-curing

once washed, the parts 3d printed with the tgm-7 resin must be dried and cured immediately either with the help of a curing station (with or without supports). the recommended curing times will depend on the used equipment but can range from anywhere between 5 to 60 minutes (until the surface of the part is not sticky anymore).  the rule of thumb is that parts should be cured until not sticky anymore.

safety

certain precautions must be taken when working with 3d printing resins. the user must ensure that the working space is adequately ventilated, and that protective goggles, gloves and garments are worn at all times. the tgm-7 resin should be stored in a tightly closed container/resin vat to avoid resin deterioration due to uv exposure. the container/vat should be kept in a cool, well ventilated area away from heat, sparks and open flame. to get a better idea of how to work with the ameralabs resins safely, please read the manufacturer's blog post on the most common resin safety myths.
