The Bedrock BVOH support filament is a high-quality, water-soluble material designed to make 3D printing of complex geometries and structures easier. Supports allow for printing overhangs and intricate details, while soluble support materials make removal faster, cleaner, and more sustainable, as no chemical solvents are required.

The Bedrock BVOH filament is made from butanediol vinyl alcohol, a biodegradable, non-toxic polymer with no odor during printing. It offers slightly better adhesion than conventional PVA and dissolves more quickly in hot water, allowing supports to be removed easily. This filament is compatible with a wide range of 3D printing materials, including PLA, PET, ABS, and other common thermoplastics.

Bedrock BVOH provides stable and consistent extrusion, with uniform diameter and reliable mechanical properties, making it ideal for complex parts where breakaway supports would be impractical or could damage the printed surface.

Key Features of Bedrock BVOH:

  • Water-soluble: dissolves up to 2x faster than other PVA filaments.
  • Wide compatibility: works with over 13 different materials.
  • Reliable and smooth extrusion.
  • Perfect for complex geometries and multi-material parts.
  • Fast printing with minimal nozzle clogging.

Use Cases: overhangs, intricate geometries, hollow parts, and multi-material assemblies.

Recommended Printing Settings:

  • Nozzle temperature: 190-210 ºC
  • Bed temperature: 60-100 ºC
  • Bed material: glass
  • Nozzle diameter: ≥ 0.4 mm
  • Print speed: 30-60 mm/s

Thanks to its fast dissolution and multi-material compatibility, Bedrock BVOH allows you to print complex details and overhangs with confidence, achieving clean and professional results even on the most demanding 3D projects.

BVOH is an extremely hygroscopic material, which is why it should be stored in dry conditions at all times - before, during and after printing. The correct way to store Ultrafuse BVOH is in its original packaging, with a filament drying capsule, or in a vacuum sealed bag. An intelligent filament container can also be used to protect the filament from humidity. During printing, the spool can be placed in the Fiber Three filament drying case or a filament dryer. If the BVOH support filament absorbs excess moisture (which manifests in, among others, oozing, bubbles, sizzling and surface imperfections on the part), it should be dried at 60 °C in a hot air dryer or vacuum oven for 4 to 16 hours.

3D printing with a support material requires the use of a 3D printer with at least 2 extruders. The Ultrafuse BVOH filament should be printed at 190-210 ºC, on a glass bed heated to 60-100 ºC. The recommended printing speed is 30-60 mm/s.
