Ultracur3D Hardener F+

BASF-UC-HARD-FPLUS

Post processing is a stage of production that enables the user to improve the look and durability of the manufactured part depending on the intended application of the 3D printed part. One of the post processing methods available for certain materials in additive manufacturing is dyeing or painting a 3D printed part, with liquid or spray paint.

In order to ensure that the applied paint will look good and stand the test of time, a hardener can be used to boost the resilience of a coat of paint or to cure it. The BASF Ultracur3D F+ Hardener is an indispensable step when working with the Ultracur3D Coat F+ coatings.

The Ultracur3D Hardener F+ is a hardener designed to be used with the flexible Ultracur3D coatings (Coat F+) created for materials such as Ultracur3D EL 4000, the BASF EL elastic resins and flexible FL resins. The compatibility of this feature in both the coating and the hardener will ensure that the coated and hardened surface still allows for full flexibility of the 3D printed part.

The Ultracur3D Hardener F+ is a liquid hardener and its application in spray form is not recommended. The recommended mix ratio of coating to hardener is 100:4 by volume.

In order to ensure user safety at all times, personal protective clothing should always be used when working with the Ultracur3D Hardener F+. The user should also wear some kind of protective mask and ensure proper ventilation of the workspace in order to avoid inhaling the vapors produced by the hardener. The Ultracur3D Hardener F+ should also be kept away from fire, strongly acid and strongly alkaline materials, oxidizing agents and alcohols at all times.

The Ultracur3D Hardener F+ should not, under any circumstances, be disposed of into soil or drains/waterways. In case that happens, the local water company should be contacted immediately. Residues of the hardener should not be returned into the original storage container. More safety information can be found in the Safety Datasheet in the Downloads section.
