Blends of nylon (PA) and carbon fiber have become the top choice for industrial additive manufacturing thanks to the unique combination of mechanical strength, thermal stability, and chemical resistance. The Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15 filament is designed for applications where standard filaments do not meet the requirements of high performance, durability, and dimensional accuracy.

This filament combines 15% carbon fiber with a high-temperature PA polymer, offering high thermal resistance withstanding up to 150 °C in continuous use, superior chemical resistance ideal for aggressive and chemical environments, exceptional mechanical strength with strong, rigid, and reliable parts, dimensional stability with low shrinkage during printing, low moisture absorption maintaining performance even in humid environments, and features electrostatic discharge protection (ESD) with surface resistivity of 10⁵–10¹¹ Ω.

Advantages of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon

Nylon (PA) is recognized for its durability, deformation resistance, and chemical stability. When reinforced with carbon fiber, Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15 achieves greater stiffness, lower weight, and superior mechanical performance, as well as more precise printing thanks to its low shrinkage.

High-Performance Industrial Applications

Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15 is ideal for complex structures, functional parts, and prototypes that require mechanical and chemical resistance, including automotive and aerospace components, manufacturing tools and molds, as well as parts exposed to high temperatures or aggressive chemicals. Its compatibility with water-soluble support materials, such as BVOH, allows printing intricate geometries without compromising post-processing quality.

High-Speed and Precise 3D Printing

This filament allows high printing speeds without losing quality, perfectly combining with soluble supports that enable fast and precise post-processing. Parts maintain exact dimensions even in demanding environments, ensuring efficient and reliable production.

Conclusion: The Ultimate Choice for Prototypes and Production

The Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15 filament is the ultimate solution for those seeking high-performance industrial 3D printing. Its combination of thermal, chemical, and mechanical resistance, together with low moisture absorption and dimensional stability, makes it the best choice for functional parts, demanding prototypes, and final industrial applications. With Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15, every project achieves maximum durability, precision, and efficiency, establishing it as a leader in carbon fiber reinforced nylon filaments for professional 3D printing.

The filament Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15 must be stored correctly to maintain its performance and mechanical properties. Before and after printing, it is recommended to keep it in its original packaging or in a vacuum-sealed bag, including a filament desiccant capsule inside the spool. A highly effective alternative is using a smart filament storage container. During printing, the spool can be kept in a filament drying case or in an online filament dryer. If the filament absorbs moisture, it is recommended to dry it in a hot air dryer at 70 ºC for 4-16 hours or in a vacuum oven at 80 ºC for at least 40 hours. These measures ensure maximum printability and the preservation of the mechanical and chemical properties of 3D printed parts.

For optimal 3D printing, Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15 should be extruded at 260-280 ºC without a layer fan, at a speed of 30-80 mm/s. The recommended bed temperature is 100-120 ºC and the ideal printing surface is clean glass or a PEI sheet, ensuring perfect adhesion and minimal warping during printing.

Due to the presence of carbon fiber in the filament, it is essential to use a hardened steel nozzle or a ruby tip nozzle with a minimum diameter of 0.6 mm. Using standard nozzles causes accelerated wear and diameter variations, which can result in surface inconsistencies and affect the mechanical and dimensional properties of parts printed with Bedrock 3D PAHT CF15.
