The DiamondBack Unicorn nozzles from E3D are extremely wear-resistant and designed for Creality 3D printers like Creality K1C, Creality K1 Max, Creality Ender 3 V3, Creality Ender 3 V3 Plus, Creality Ender 3 V3 KE, and Creality Ender 3 V3 SE. This nozzle is available in two diameters: 0.4 mm or 0.6 mm, and optimized for 1.75 mm filaments. With a maximum extrusion temperature of 300 ºC, it is suitable for a wide range of common and engineering filaments.

Why choose DiamondBack?

The rapid development of fiber, metal, and ceramic filaments has increased the demand for wear-resistant nozzles. Compared to other options available in the market, DiamondBack nozzles offer unmatched wear resistance and versatility. They are compatible with abrasive filaments and filled filaments, including PLA-CF, ABS-CF, PETG-CF, PC-CF, and PA-CF.

Softness and Hardness

DiamondBack nozzles unlock extreme wear resistance thanks to polycrystalline diamond tips (PCD). These diamonds are made of thousands of small diamond crystals with a patented binder forming a matrix of crystals linked by diamond-to-diamond bonds. They retain the hardness of diamonds while reducing the inherent fragility of monocrystalline diamonds, making them an excellent choice for printing with engineering-grade filaments and metal and ceramic-filled filaments.

Precise Printing

DiamondBack nozzles feature a solid diamond tip to improve accuracy in 3D printing. The tip is not a diamond coating, but a solid diamond insert, made with the hardest material in the world.

Longevity

The PCD used in these Creality Unicorn nozzles significantly extends the nozzle's lifespan. It provides world-class thermal conductivity, improving layer adhesion for stronger prints. The low friction coefficient, combined with a polished tip, creates extremely smooth upper layers, with a similar effect to ironing.

Effortless Upgrade

These nozzles are a direct replacement for your original Creality Unicorn nozzle, with no adjustments needed for mounting or part cooling. You can maintain the default print profiles, as they are a perfect match.

In summary, the DiamondBack Creality Unicorn nozzles offer easy installation and are compatible with any filament type. Their solid diamond design ensures greater durability and precision in printing, while the HeatBreak resistant to heat propagation improves thermal stability and print quality. They are an ideal choice for those seeking reliability and high performance.

Whether for daily prints or demanding functional prototypes, DiamondBack nozzles offer incomparable versatility and precision, maintaining exceptional wear resistance and non-stick properties, drastically reducing plastic buildup.

Guide to change the nozzle:

For the upgrade process, you will need:

  • Wrench
  • Box wrench

Steps to change the nozzle:

  1. Move the print head to the initial position using the printer's control interface.
  2. Lower the bed 30 mm to facilitate access to the head.
  3. Heat the nozzle to the filament print temperature and use the retraction button to unload the filament.
  4. Set the HotEnd temperature to 0°C and wait for it to cool completely.
  5. Unscrew the screws on each side that hold the fan cover. Carefully disconnect the fan connector and place the cover in a safe spot.
  6. Remove the nozzle cover to access it.
  7. Set the nozzle temperature to 240°C.
  8. Hold the heater block with a wrench and use the box wrench to unscrew and carefully remove the nozzle (note that the nozzle will be very hot).
  9. Insert the new nozzle, hold the heater block with the wrench, and tighten the nozzle with the box wrench.
  10. Feed the filament into the extruder and extrude it at the print temperature, ensuring that it flows smoothly through the new nozzle.
  11. Set the nozzle temperature to 0°C and increase the side fan speed to 100% to speed up cooling.
  12. Turn off the printer once the nozzle has cooled down and replace the nozzle cover.
  13. Reconnect the fan, place the cover, and tighten the screws on each side.
  14. Turn the printer on.
  15. Ensure that the entry formation and auto-leveling are enabled, and perform an auto-check (this process takes about 11 minutes).

Warning:
During use and cooling, there is a risk of burns on hands. Handle with caution.

To keep the nozzle in optimal condition, you can use the following recommended cleaning methods:

  • Cleaning filament (internal cleaning method): Helps to remove filament residue inside the nozzle.
  • Hot pull (internal cleaning method): Increase the temperature and pull the filament to clean the inside.
  • Cold pull (internal cleaning method): Cool the filament before pulling it to clean.
  • Brass brush (external cleaning method): Useful for cleaning the outside of the nozzle.
