The Prusa CORE One L represents the consolidation of the new generation of professional printers from Prusa. Designed under the same “built to last” philosophy, this version expands the build volume and redefines the standards of reliability, safety, and productivity in professional environments. With a 300 × 300 × 330 mm build volume, a convection AC heated bed, and an actively heated chamber up to 60 °C, the CORE One L delivers top-tier precision even with demanding engineering materials.

Comparison with the Core One

A new statement of intent

The CORE One L is more than an enlarged version of its predecessor: it is a statement of intent. At a time when many manufacturers prioritize speed and connectivity over reliability, Prusa remains committed to technological maturity and durability. Instead of piling on immature features, the Czech brand focuses on integrating clever, robust solutions that reduce maintenance and maximize uptime.

CoreXY design and advanced convection heating

At the heart of the CORE One L lies its CoreXY architecture, which combines structural rigidity and precise motion with a convection AC heated bed. This innovative system uses the bed’s own heat to warm the chamber evenly, avoiding the risks associated with PTC heaters and ensuring thermal uniformity with less than 2 °C deviation. As a result, technical materials can be printed without warping or delamination, maintaining consistent quality throughout the entire print.

Engineering for reliability

The CORE One L introduces smart mechanical solutions that reduce complexity and improve reliability. For example, the automatic ventilation shutter system requires no motors or additional electronics: the printhead itself actuates a mechanical lever to open or close the vent. This philosophy — “less electronics, more reliability” — extends throughout the machine, prioritizing longevity and minimizing failure points.

Precise extrusion and automatic calibration

Equipped with the Nextruder direct-drive extruder featuring a 10:1 gear ratio, the CORE One L ensures precise filament control even at high speeds. Its 360° part cooling allows overhangs up to 75°, while the Input Shaper technology guarantees vibration-free surfaces. First-layer calibration is fully automatic, combining load cell detection, mesh bed leveling, and phase stepping to deliver consistent results from the very first print.

Advanced safety and multilayer electrical architecture

The new AC-powered bed led Prusa to completely redesign the electrical system. The printer performs active voltage detection (110 V / 230 V) by analyzing the waveform in real time, ensuring both safety and heating efficiency. Additionally, it features a multilayer safety architecture that monitors leakage currents and instantly cuts power in case of failure, with a redundant TRIAC and relay setup.

Privacy and offline operation

In a market dominated by mandatory cloud platforms, Prusa reinforces its commitment to user privacy and control. The CORE One L can operate 100% offline with no network or account required, keeping all setup, slicing, and firmware update features locally. Its electronics are entirely manufactured in Europe, avoiding risks from third-party software or firmware alterations.

Critical Infrastructure version detail

Critical Infrastructure Edition

For environments requiring maximum data protection, Prusa offers the CORE One L Critical Infrastructure Edition. This model removes all wireless connectivity and includes a certified encrypted USB drive, enabling a completely disconnected and secure workflow — ideal for government, defense, and critical infrastructure applications.

Material compatibility

Thanks to its heated chamber and AC convection bed, the CORE One L provides exceptional material compatibility, from PLA, PETG, and Flex to ASA, PC, PP, CPE, Nylon, and HIPS. With the optional advanced filtration system, it can handle technical materials without warping while maintaining dimensional accuracy and professional surface finish.

Software and open ecosystem

Like every Prusa printer, the CORE One L operates within an open and professional ecosystem:

  • PrusaSlicer: open-source slicing software with over 200 preconfigured material profiles.
  • EasyPrint: slice and send directly from a browser, phone, or tablet.
  • Prusa Connect: secure remote management with job scheduling and notifications.
  • Prusa App: available for iOS and Android, allows remote monitoring and control.

All software and firmware are fully open source, allowing complete offline operation, slicing, and updates without accounts or internet access. Users also have access to over one million free 3D models through Printables.

A long-term professional investment

The Prusa CORE One L consolidates Prusa’s new CoreXY platform as a benchmark for reliability, precision, and safety. Its combination of robust engineering, open philosophy, and long-term support makes it the perfect tool for print farms, workshops, design studios, and industrial environments. More than an evolution, the CORE One L embodies what Prusa has always stood for: mature, reliable, and productivity-oriented technology.
