TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane, is a versatile and popular material for 3D printing. Known for its flexibility and durability, TPU offers a unique combination of properties that make it ideal for producing flexible and rubbery parts. It has excellent layer adhesion, making it easy to print with minimal warping.

The PolyCore TPU-2000 pellets by Polymaker are a material with a Shore hardness of 95 A. They were developed specially for MAAM (Middle Area Additive Manufacturing) and can be extruded with the help of equipment such as the CEAD AM Flexbot, the CEAD E25 extruder, the Mahor V4 pellet extruder, or the Dyze Pulsar extruder.

TPU is resistant to abrasion and chemicals, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including custom gaskets and seals, commodity articles such footwear, and even prosthetics. TPU's ability to withstand repeated bending and stretching, along with its low friction coefficient, makes TPU an excellent choice for creating functional, impact-absorbing, and wearable 3D-printed items.

Proper storage of 3D printing materials is crucial for smooth extrusion and high surface quality and mechanical properties of the 3D printed part. PolyCore TPU-2000 pellets should be stored in a sealed package under dry conditions at a temperature below 50°C, protected from UV light at all times. If the pellets absorb excess moisture, they should be dried for 12 hours at 70°C. The recommended processing temperature for PolyCore TPU-2000 pellets is 205 to 215°C.
