The OrangeStorm Giga by Elegoo is a high-performance industrial-grade FDM 3D printer with an impressive build volume of 800 mm x 800 mm x 1000 mm, making it well-suited for industrial and large-scale projects without the need for posterior assembly and post-processing of the 3D printed parts due to build volume restrictions.

Designed to handle multimaterial printing, the OrangeStorm Giga printer can accommodate up to four printheads (purchased separately), allowing for efficient and versatile output. With a maximum print speed of 300 mm/s (and a recommended speed of 150 mm/s), the OrangeStorm Giga achieves remarkable results with the help of its advanced 64-bit SOC RK3328 processor with a 1.5 GHz clock speed, enabling rapid and smooth processing of complex printing tasks.

The extrusion system

The OrangeStorm Giga’s extrusion system has been engineered for precision, equipped with a high-temperature nozzle capable of reaching 300 ºC. This nozzle uses a proximal double-gear extrusion setup, alongside a full titanium alloy heat pipe, for better control and higher durability. Made from chrome zirconium copper and featuring a 60 W ceramic heating pad, the nozzle delivers smoother extrusion at greater precision.

The 5015 ball blower cooling fans on both sides of the extruder turn off automatically once printing is done, contributing to energy savings and noise reduction. The extrusion system of the OrangeStorm Giga printer also includes a PID auto-calibration function to maintain consistent temperatures and an acceleration sensor that optimizes resonance compensation for enhanced print quality.

More extruders can be added for multimaterial printing capabilities

The printer comes with an 0.6 mm nozzle (optional sizes from 0.4 mm to 1 mm) and up to four printheads can be mounted on the X-axis (purchased separately), supporting simultaneous printing of identical models in four different colors or materials, maximizing productivity. The OrangeStorm Giga printer is ideal for working with filaments such as PLA, PETG, TPU and PA, and the included spool holder, crafted from durable sheet metal, can support filament spools up to 5 kg, ideal for long print runs.

The build surface

The OrangeStorm Giga is equipped with a modular heated bed composed of four independent PEI magnetic platforms, each measuring 410 mm x 410 mm, that can reach a maximum temperature of 100 ºC. This heating system allows for customizable energy use, as only the platforms needed for a particular print are heated.

The bed heats up fully in 17 minutes when the ambient temperature is 25 ºC, ensuring consistent heat distribution. The modular design of the build surface makes it energy efficient while allowing greater control over the heated zones to reduce unnecessary energy consumption during prints that do not utilize the entire build area.

The design

The OrangeStorm Giga boasts a robust design optimized for stability, durability and precision. Its X and Y axes are equipped with linear guides for smoother movement, enhancing the machine’s durability and print accuracy. The Z-axis has been reinforced with an updated bar, supporting smooth, accurate movement and leveling.

A carbon steel base and rubber anti-slip pads provide stability, while caterpillar cable tracks organize and protect the cables, shielding them from dust and wear. The X/Y axis belts ensure optimal tension control, thanks to conveniently designed adjustment knobs, which also improve print quality.

Ease of use

Ease of use is prioritized with the OrangeStorm Giga’s 10.1-inch HD touchscreen, which is detachable for handheld operation, offering a user-friendly interface with support for model preview in ELEGOO Cura and eight language options.

The printer includes features that prevent interruptions, such as filament detection sensors that pause printing if filament is depleted or broken. Additionally, the printer’s one-click automatic leveling function and non-contact high-precision sensor, which collects 100 data points to ensure platform leveling, make it easier to set up and maintain print quality consistently.

What's included?

The OrangeStorm Giga package comes with a comprehensive set of components: the printer itself, a primary printhead, detachable touchscreen, dual leveling plates, bracket arm, filament spool holder, two filament break detectors, Z-axis caterpillar tracks, Z-axis stop components, filament guide assembly, and a separate spool holder assembly for 5 kg spools. Additional accessories include a power cable, leveling card, grease, eight test corner holders, essential tools, fasteners, and a user manual for easy setup and operation. This complete kit ensures that users are fully equipped to begin printing large-scale projects right out of the box.
