The Bondtech BMG is probably one of the best known extruders. During the time it has been on the market, it has demonstrated high quality and reliability. This, together with its high performance combined with low weight, has made it a benchmark.
The Bondtech BMG was originally developed to be combined with E3D's V6 hotends via its groove mount, making it one of the highest performing direct extrusion systems available.
In its quest to provide the best direct extrusion system, Bondtech has developed a new version of the BMG extruder compatible with the Mosquito hotend, a hotend with unprecedented thermal performance, through its partnership with American company Slice Engineering.
The BMG-M extruder also features some of the technologies that made the original BMG famous:
The Dual-Drive system together with the option to adjust the pulling tension, offers one of the most efficient pulling systems, especially with technical materials. A good adjustment allows thousands of retractions without the risk of damaging the filament. In addition, the DDG design allows the filament to be pulled over a larger surface area, achieving a higher pulling force with better stress distribution.
The Bondtech BMG is capable of reliably pulling all types of materials, from slippery nylons and flexible filaments (TPU / TPE) to very stiff and sometimes brittle high mechanical strength carbon fibre filaments. The filament path to the HotEnd is fully guided along the extruder, as the gap between the Dual-Drive and the housing is adjusted to the maximum to mitigate the chances of feeding error when flexible materials are used or the extrusion speed is very high.
The Bondtech BMG-M has an easily accessible lever that releases the tension between the gears and the filament by simply pressing it. This results in a filament change in a matter of seconds.
The BMG-M extruder is compatible with all Mosquito system hotends: Mosquito, Mosquito Magnum and Mosquito Magnum+, in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled versions.
For all those users who want to go one step further and work with high temperature materials reliably or print at very high speed, the BMG extruder and Mosquito hotend set is one of the best performing options.

To install a mosquito hotend on the extruder, the steps outlined in the following guide, available on the manufacturer's website, must be carefully followed.
When combined with the Mosquito Liquid or Mosquito Magnum+ Liquid hotend, in high temperature applications, a suitable high temperature or liquid cooled motor must be used.
