The rPLA EcoBlend filament from Filacorp exemplifies sustainability in 3D printing through its innovative use of transitional materials from the rPLA Collection. This filament is produced from color transitions during manufacturing runs, repurposing materials that would otherwise become waste and ensuring a zero-waste production process. With a manufacturing tolerance of ±0.05 mm, EcoBlend delivers reliable performance while offering a unique aesthetic. Each batch features an exclusive and unique color that emerges organically from the transitions between one hue and the next, making every spool truly one of a kind

However, due to its sustainable nature, color consistency between batches cannot be guaranteed, reinforcing its appeal as a distinctive and eco-conscious choice for 3D printing. When it comes to mechanical properties, the rPLA EcoBlend filament closely mirrors those of standard PLA, allowing users to transition smoothly to a recycled material without sacrificing quality. With an Izod impact strength of 43 J/m, an elongation at break of 10%, tensile strength of 55 MPa, and a flexural strength of 58 MPa, rPLA EcoBlend demonstrates robust durability. Its flexural modulus of 4800 MPa and softening temperature of 58 ºC further support its functionality for high-quality, eco-conscious printing projects.

Beyond sustainability, the rPLA EcoBlend offers impressive printing benefits. It is compatible with high-speed printing up to 300 mm/s and shows minimal warping or shrinkage, ensuring consistent results. Compatible with multi-material systems, like the Bambu Lab AMS module, this filament accommodates various spool holders and is compatible with popular FDM 3D printers, including the Prusa MK4, Creality K1C, Elegoo Neptune 4 Max, and Bambu Lab A1 Mini. With rPLA EcoBlend, users can achieve both environmental and performance goals in their 3D printing projects.

To achieve optimal print quality with the rPLA EcoBlend filament, it is recommended to set the extrusion temperature between 210-230 ºC, and the print bed should be maintained between 50-60 ºC. A heated build chamber is not necessary, and it is best to keep the cooling fan at 100% to achieve optimal surface finish.

The rPLA EcoBlend filament supports high-speed printing with speeds of up to 300 mm/s. However, when printing at higher speeds, it is crucial to raise the extrusion temperature. To improve bed adhesion, the manufacturer recommends using bed adhesion products such as Magigoo or blue tape.

Proper filament storage is essential for maintaining the quality of rPLA EcoBlend. To prevent compromised print quality due to moisture, the filament should be stored in a sealed container with desiccant. If the filament absorbs excess moisture, drying it at 60 ºC for 6-12 hours in a filament dryer is recommended to restore its optimal printing properties.
