The ASA 275 is a professional-grade filament designed by Spectrum for use with desktop 3D printers, specifically engineered to enhance flexibility and printing performance. The material’s composition has been carefully modified to optimize flow properties, reduce shrinkage, and improve layer adhesion. These modifications simplify printing parameters, making ASA 275 nearly as easy to use as PLA, enabling fast, high-quality prints without the risk of warping during cooling.

One of the standout features of ASA 275 is its ability to produce large, precise models with minimal deformation, even at relatively high print speeds. Its excellent resistance to UV radiation and other environmental factors ensures it maintains performance in outdoor or harsh conditions. The material also boasts impressive thermal resistance, with a Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of 85 ºC, making it suitable for a wide range of demanding applications.

ASA 275 is ideal for printing functional prototypes, production tools, and durable components that need to withstand exposure to fluctuating weather conditions. It is particularly well-suited for use in the automotive, sports, and marine industries, as well as for producing electrical housings and other items intended for outdoor use. With its combination of ease of use and exceptional durability, ASA 275 is a versatile solution for both prototyping and end-use applications.

Once opened, the Spectrum filaments must be stored properly to prevent moisture absorption from the air. Filament is best stored in a hermetically sealed bag with desiccant, in a vacuum-sealed container or in a smart filament container. If the filament absorbs too much moisture, it should be dried in a filament dryer in accordance with the settings recommended for the material in question.

In order to avoid extrusion problems and obtain high quality parts with the Spectrum filaments, it is highly recommended to use the printing parameters (extrusion temperature, bed temperature, printing speed, fan settings) provided in each material's respective technical datasheet. It is also crucial to follow any other recommendations such as the use of an abrasion-resistant nozzle. The datasheets can be found in the Attachments section.

It is strongly recommended to use standard safety equipment during printing and post-processing of parts 3D printed with Spectrum filaments: safety goggles, gloves, breathing apparatus and protective clothing as required.
