Spectrum PLA ESD is a high-performance anti-static PLA filament for professional 3D printing, designed to produce safe parts in ESD-safe areas, EPA zones, EX environments, and ATEX-certified applications. Its advanced formulation, based on a modified PLA biopolymer, enables controlled and permanent dissipation of electrostatic charges, preventing sparks, electric discharges, and damage to sensitive electronic components.

The combination of continuous electrostatic protection, dimensional accuracy, mechanical strength, and PLA-like printability makes this ESD filament for FDM/FFF 3D printers a strategic solution for professional additive manufacturing, industrial maintenance, technical labs, electronic assembly lines, automotive, energy, and chemical sectors. The result is functional, safe, and durable parts with consistent industrial-quality performance.

Certified Electrostatic Protection with Safe Charge Dissipation

Parts printed with Spectrum PLA ESD achieve a surface resistivity between 10⁷ and 10⁹ Ω/sq, an optimal range for ESD-safe materials and applications in potentially explosive atmospheres. This property ensures a gradual release of electrostatic energy without sudden discharges or ignition risks, providing maximum safety in critical electronic environments.

Its non-migratory, halogen-free anti-static technology maintains stable electrical performance over time, independent of ambient humidity. Unlike conventional conductive filaments, the protection does not degrade with use, ensuring permanent safety, operational stability, and reliable performance.

Easy, Stable, and Precise Printing Like Standard PLA

This professional PLA ESD filament retains the ease of printing of standard PLA, offering low shrinkage, minimal warping, excellent layer adhesion, and high thermal stability. It enables the production of complex geometries, functional prototypes, and end-use parts with clean surface finish, high structural rigidity, and precise tolerances, reducing print failures and optimizing productivity.

Professional ESD Technical Properties of Spectrum PLA ESD

The Spectrum PLA ESD anti-static 3D printing filament provides a perfect balance of electrostatic safety, mechanical performance, and ease of printing. Printing tips for Spectrum PLA ESD

The Spectrum PLA ESD antistatic filament for 3D printing offers a user experience very similar to standard PLA, enabling stable, easy and predictable printing even in technical and industrial applications. To achieve maximum mechanical performance and proper electrostatic dissipation, it is recommended to work with a nozzle temperature between 185 and 230 °C and a heated bed between 0 and 50 °C, sufficient to ensure good adhesion without warping.

The material supports a wide production range, with printing speeds from 40 to 350 mm/s, allowing both precise prototyping and fast manufacturing of functional parts. Cooling can be used up to 100% to improve surface finish and detail definition, and an enclosed chamber is not required, making it easy to use on conventional open-frame 3D printers.

Filament storage and preservation

To maintain ESD properties, extrusion quality and dimensional stability, the filament should be stored in a dry place at room temperature, preferably between 18 and 25 °C, protected from moisture, direct sunlight and heat sources. Under proper storage conditions, the material maintains optimal performance for an approximate shelf life of 24 months, ensuring consistent and reliable prints over time.
