Addnorth is a Swedish manufacturer of filaments for 3D printing, renowned for producing very high quality filaments, as well as for the strong development of materials for applications in science and engineering.
Adamant S1 filament is a filament with advanced properties based on PVDF.
PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) is an advanced plastic (fluoropolymer) with excellent mechanical, chemical and thermal properties. It stands out for being an inert plastic to most chemical compounds (except caustic solutions and ketones), which, together with its high thermal resistance of up to 120ºC in continuous work, makes it a material with great potential in the chemical industry.
Among the properties of PVDF are:
Addnorth's Adamant S1 filament is made entirely of PVDF and is an industrial grade 3D printing material. Due to its composition, the PVDF filament shares the properties of the base material.
Thus, Addnorth's Adamant S1 filament has good heat resistance and excellent resistance to chemicals and solvents.
This filament can be used in demanding applications and under extreme conditions. Adamant S1 has a flammability rating of UL94 V-0.
The biggest problem with this type of advanced filament is that they often experience a large amount of warping. However, the Adamant S1 filament has been developed in such a way that it is almost deformation free during the 3D printing process. Furthermore, the Adamant S1 filament has a good layer adhesion.
Therefore, despite being an advanced material, it can be printed with almost any desktop printer.
Adamant S1 filament is available in white colour and in 1000 g format, both in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm.
Some of the most common applications of this material are
With Adamant S1 it is possible to produce semi-flexible 3D printed parts with an extreme durability. Due to its properties, this material could be considered as the low temperature equivalent of PEEK.
