Bedrock 3D PC/ABS FR is a high-performance filament formulated to deliver maximum strength, thermal stability, and fire safety. This material combines the robustness of polycarbonate (PC) with the easy printability of ABS, and includes a halogen-free flame retardant additive that meets the most demanding international standards.

Compliance with safety standards and international certifications

The Bedrock 3D PC/ABS FR filament is designed to meet the strictest safety requirements for industrial and electronic applications. It is certified under the UL94 V-0 (self-extinguishing) standard at both 1.5 mm and 3.0 mm, and complies with the European railway classification EN 45545-2 for critical components in high-temperature environments. It also passes the GWEPT test (glow wire test) without dripping at 750ºC and 960ºC, ensuring maximum safety under extreme heat exposure.

Advanced mechanical and thermal properties

Thanks to the combination of polycarbonate and ABS, this filament offers excellent tensile, impact, and thermal deformation resistance. Polycarbonate provides rigidity, dimensional stability, and chemical resistance, while ABS contributes flexibility, lightness, and easy processing. This synergy makes Bedrock 3D PC/ABS FR an ideal choice for manufacturing technical parts that must withstand high temperatures and continuous mechanical stress.

Professional finish and easy printing

The Bedrock 3D PC/ABS FR filament stands out for its excellent layer adhesion and high-quality surface finish, even at high printing speeds (up to 90 mm/s). Its optimized formulation enables stable and precise 3D printing with consistent flow, minimizing warping or layer failure—perfect for professional and industrial 3D printers.

Applications of Bedrock 3D PC/ABS FR

This filament is designed for the production of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components that require flame resistance and extreme durability. Common uses include:

The Bedrock 3D PC/ABS FR filament offers the perfect balance between thermal performance, mechanical strength, and dimensional stability. To achieve the best results and maximize its potential, it is important to follow the optimal print settings that ensure solid adhesion, a smooth surface, and excellent layer quality.

  • Nozzle temperature: 260–280 °C
  • Bed temperature: 90–110 °C
  • Print chamber: closed with passive heating
  • Print speed: 30–350 mm/s*
  • Recommended nozzle diameter: ≥ 0.4 mm
  • Build surface: glass with suitable adhesive

*To reach higher print speeds, it may be necessary to slightly increase the nozzle temperature.

Recent tests have shown excellent surface quality using a 0.4 mm nozzle and a 0.2 mm layer height. As 3D printing technologies evolve, even faster speeds can be achieved while maintaining dimensional precision.

Tips to prevent warping

To reduce the risk of warping or detachment, especially on large prints, it is recommended to use a 3D printer with a closed chamber and passive heating. Additionally, apply a thin layer of specialized adhesive on the glass bed, such as DimaFix or PrintaFix. These products improve initial adhesion and allow controlled release of the part once printing is complete.

Storage and maintenance of Bedrock 3D PC/ABS FR filament

Proper filament storage is essential to preserve quality and prevent moisture absorption, which can cause extrusion problems, bubbles, or poor surface quality. Store the spool in a vacuum-sealed bag with desiccant capsules, inside a PrintDry smart container, or in a filament drying device during printing.

If the material has absorbed moisture, it should be dried at 60 °C for at least 4 hours in an oven or suitable drying device. This restores the filament’s properties, ensuring stable and flawless extrusion.
