Sometimes in industrial 3D printing, the fabrication of very complex structures and geometries is needed. FDM 3D printing does not support large overhangs and bridges used in structures like that, but this can be solved with a support filament.

The 3D printing market has numerous support filaments to offer, either soluble or breakaway. The 3NTR SSU05 support filament is a breakaway support material designed especially for the high temperature nylon filament nPOWER by 3NTR. This filament has to be printed on a heated bed and in a closed heated chamber.

The SSU05 filament needs to be removed manually once the printing process is complete. It can be done by hand or with the help of pliers for more precision. Making multi material parts requires more than one extruder. The SSU05 support filament is meant to be used on the 3NTR 3D printers, all of which are equipped with 3 (3NTR-A2 and 3NTR-A4) or 4 extruders (Spectral 30). Thanks to this solution, very complex and multi material structures can be manufactured with the SSU05 support filament and the nPOWER filament, as well as 1 or 2 other compatible materials from the 3NTR catalog.

The SSU05 HiPS support filament by 3NTR allows 3NTR printer users to manufacture complex or multi material jigs, tools and poka-yoke designs that will support working temperatures of up to 210 ºC and resist solvents.

There is no need for adhesion improving products to be applied to the printing base when 3D printing with the SSU05 support material. All the 3NTR 3D printers incorporate a carbon fiber base additivized with glass fiber that ensures optimal adhesion of the 3NTR filaments to the building base.

The SSU05 support material has to be printed on a heated bed and in a closed heated chamber.

This filament should be protected from the threatening effects of humidity. It can be done by storing the SSU05 filament in a dry place, such as a drying unit before and after printing. The recommended drying equipment is the Vento drying unit or the Storm modular drying unit by 3NTR.
