This E3D Hemera heat break is the original replacement for the Hemera heat break. It is compatible with 1.75 mm filament and with the V6, Volcano and Super Volcano heater blocks. The heat break comes in two material options: stainless steel or grade 5 titanium.

The E3D Hemera heat break has a modified structure for better thermal performance. The heat break uses a M4 thread on the cold side to improve heat transfer but a standard M6 thread on the hot side ensures compatibility with the E3D ecosystem of nozzles, heater blocks, temperature sensors and heater cartridges. The flange dividing these two zones ensures a precise and tight positioning of the heat break between the drive gears and the heatsink.

In comparison to the stainless steel Hemera heat break, the titanium Hemera heat break is characterized by lower thermal conductivity (maintaining the cold side of the hotend even colder) and exceptional strength. The extra strength of the titanium heat break lowers the risk of the heat break cracking or snapping upon tightening or upon collision with the printing bed. Furthermore, the internal surface finish of the titanium E3D heat breaks has been refined to reduce extrusion force and improve retraction reliability. By upgrading the 3D printer with the titanium heat break the user will be able to 3D print at higher temperatures thanks to a sharpy defined melt zone.
