High quality PC filament, tested for optimal 3D printing with Raise 3D printers.

Raise3D is one of the leading manufacturers of  FDM 3D printers and accessories. Since its inception, it has been committed to offering high quality 3D printers, with innovative components and operating systems, always maintaining an adequate sale price for most professional users.

Currently it offers a wide catalog of high quality filaments: PLA, ABS, ASA, PC, PETG and PVA.

Polycarbonate (PC) is a transparent and amorphous plastic with good mechanical properties. It's a very rigid material, resistant and with good resistance to oils, greases and solvents; in addition to being a good electrical insulator. Polycarbonate is a material widely used in industry, especially in the electrical industry.

Raise 3D PC Premium Filament has great mechanical properties. It's a rigid, durable material with high impact resistance. Furthermore, it withstands temperatures of approximately 100ºC without deforming. It also supports contact with oils, greases and solvents. The Premium PC filament is considered a good electrical insulator and supports well being exposed to the elements and sunlight.

The Raise 3D PC Premium Filament has been designed and developed with the aim of offering the highest quality and excellent compatibility with Raise 3D printers. To do this, the material is tested by the manufacturer until it finds the parameters that best fit to achieve an optimal impression.

Raise 3D has developed a lamination software, Idea Maker, in which it includes a series of predefined settings for different materials, based on the data obtained in its tests. These presets include the one for the Raise 3D Premium PC; which greatly facilitates and speeds up the printing process.

Raise 3D PC Premium is available in 750 g spools in 1.75 mm diameter only. The spools are shipped in a vacuum bag in a cardboard box. In this way, the material is kept free of moisture to ensure optimal printing.

If the PC Premium filament is 3D printed on the Pro 3 or Pro 3 Plus printer with the Hyper Speed Upgrade Kit (HUK3) installed, the printing speed can be upgraded to up to 150 mm/s

In humid environments the PC Premium filament can absorb moisture and present problems when printing. These problems can generate poor quality prints or even failed prints. This is why it's advisable that the PC filament remain in an airtight bag along with a silica bag while it is not printing, or use vacuum sealed filament containers such as PrintDry's to avoid possible contact with moisture. We also recommend using Polybox during printing.

The optimal printing temperature is between 250ºC and 270ºC. The PC filament had a superior warping effect compared to ABS. It's necessary to print it with a bed temperature of 80-105 ºC. He recommends using BuildTak, Kapton Tape or 3DLac so that the pieces do not tend to despair of the base.

Regarding the temperature of the interior where you are going to print, it's recommended that it be controlled and that there are no drafts. For this reason, if printing with 3D Raise printers of the Pro range, it must be printed with the top cover to keep the camera temperature stable.

* The typical values detailed in this table should be considered as a reference. Actual values may vary depending on the 3D printer model used, part design and printing conditions. We recommend confirming the results and final properties with own tests. For more information you should consult the technical data sheet of the product.

** Measurements taken from a printed test piece. All test samples were printed under the following conditions: nozzle temperature = 255 ° C, print speed = 60mm / s, build plate temperature = 100 ° C, fill = 100%. All samples were conditioned at room temperature for 24 h before testing.
