Taulman Nylon 680 is a filament for 3D printer made with a polymer specifically developed to meet FDA 21 CFR 177.1500. In this regulation the materials that can make containers for contact with food (except food with more than 8% alcohol) is regulated.
The Nylon Taulman 680 is designed to print in the same temperature range as other Nylons Taulman. The Nylon Taulman 680 is more transparent than nylon 645, which allows non-destructive visual inspections of the printed area. The Nylon Taulman 680 is less flexible than nylon 645, as is intended to support a long list of medical uses.
Taulman Nylon 680 spools come with 2 QR codes. Through one of them you can access technical information needed to use this filament on your 3D printer. And the second is for product traceability.
In the following article you can see the main differences of nylon Taulman 3D filaments.

The recommended temperature of 252 °C extruder is. In no case should not be used in the 3D printer filament at a higher temperature of 255 ° C.
To ensure the correct adhesion of the Taulman 680 FDA to the base, it's recommended to use BuildTak, DimaFix, PrintaFix or Magigoo PA. In addition to this adhesive it has been developed exclusively for nylon filaments and can be used with a microperforated base, PEI sheets or Kapton Tape can be used. It must be ensured that the adhesion of the first layer is firm and strong to prevent it from peeling off during 3D printing.
During the printing process can you see smoke coming from the extruder, do not panic, it's just water vapor. This is because the nylon has a great capacity to absorb moisture. For this reason we recommend that after use in your 3D printer save your coil nylon bag with the absorbent silica in the original bag. Close the bag so that it is the best possible sealed and store in a dry place.
