Industrial grade FDM 3D printer for high temperature additive manufacturing.

Sermoon M1 is a fully-enclosed industrial 3D printer from Creality. Sermoon M1 stands out with its impressive build volume of 400 x 450 x 500 mm, its high temperature printing capabilities, sturdy structure, and numerous solutions that make 3D printing safe and effiecient.

The thermal insulation of the Sermoon M1 printer

Since Sermoon M1 was designed specially for high temperature industrial 3D printing, its structure has been carefully planned and built to perform that task. The printer is equipped with double-layer casing (heat resistant and flame retardant) to improve the thermal insulation effect. The printer's chassis is strong, sturdy and durable.

Furthermore, the Sermoon M1 cooling system operates with both air and water, which helps ensure the nozzle temperature is stable throughout the printing process. A specialized water-cooled system featuring a pure copper cold row effectively dissipates heat while ensuring that the returning water temperature does not exceed 35 ºC. The air pump's output can be adjusted using laminating software to suit various filament types, providing versatile control.

In order to further boost the printer's thermal performace, Creality has added another cooling system for high temperature materials. This feature is placed in the top door of the printer and its function is to cool down the air between the two shells of the printer, improving stability and service life of the Sermoon M1 printer. This feature is turned on via the user interface.

The Sermoon M1 nozzle can reach temperatures of up to 270 ºC which allows it to work with a wide range of materials such as PLA, ABS, PETG, HIPS, ASA, PA, PC or PP. The printer's 6 mm aluminum bed can reach temperatures of up to 150 ºC in just 3 minutes, which further facilitates printing with demanding materials. The printing surface is made of carbon silicon glass, covered with composite nano-coating, and clamped to the printing bed with 9 clamps. The coating applied to the printing surface results in strong part adhesion, reduced warping around the edges and more uniform heat conduction.

Another benefit of the Sermoon M1 printer is its actively heated chamber than can reach temperatures of up to 90 ºC. Due to the combination of infrared radiation and efficient hot air circulation, the heated chamber rapidly attains the desired temperature, offering a gentle and even warmth that reaches every corner.

The filament storage chamber of the Sermoon M1 printer

To ensure that the filament is always stored in proper conditions, Sermoon M1 keeps the relative humidity in its filament compartment at 10-25 %, preventing the filament from absorbing excess humidity. What's more having a separate filament compartment enables a quick, easy and safe material change without the need to access the build chamber. Sermoon M1 offers a printing speed of up to 100 mm/s which allows for large models to be 3D printed in little time, with an XY precision of 12 µm. Sermoon M1 can work with 1.75 mm filament and comes with a 0.6 mm nozzle (0.4 mm and 0.8 mm nozzles available separately).

The Sermoon M1 Bowden extrusion system has special nozzles that support double extrusion with a relay system, ensure the uniform discharge of the material, and help prevent nozzle jams. Sermoon M1 is equipped with a filament sensor that notifies the user when filament has broken or run out.

The industrial dual temperature control system of the Sermoon M1 printer

The customized electrical and transmission components featured in Sermoon M1 are specially selected to meet the needs of high temperature environments. The printer is equipped with an industrial level dual temperature control system that allows for real-time monitoring of the chamber temperature.

The printer's motherboard can be accessed in the back of the machine. The industrial-grade MEAN WELL power supply, the special drive control and circuit protection switch combination make the Sermoon M1 a stable, safe and easy to service 3D printer.

To guarantee users' safety, Creality has equipped Sermoon M1 with HEPA air filtration to make sure no harmful substances linger in the air once the printing is done. Furthermore, if a power outage occurs, the nozzle will be automatically sent back to the X-axis zero position before the system is shut down (emergency delay-power-off module).

Applications

The Sermoon M1 printer is the perfect tool for diverse sectors such as machinery industry, general manufacturing, automotive industry, medical industry, education and research or parts and components making. Thanks to its high quality components, broad material compatibility, high extrusion temperatures, enclosed environment and many smart safety and workflow solutions, Sermoon M1 can produce prototypes and end-use parts with excellent mechanical properties and surface quality. With Sermoon M1 additive manufacturing with high temperature materials has never been easier. Sermoon M1 facilitates production in batches on demand and on-site, thus agilizing workflows, shortening lead times and boosting productivity.
