Flashforge, renowned for manufacturing quality 3D printing equipment and materials, has a wide range of FDM technology 3D printers for the home and education sector that stand out for their features and functionality as well as their ease of use. A 3D printer from the Adventurer series is the Adventurer 5M printer. Its highlights are its ease of use, stability, very high printing speed (up to 600 mm/s), and its one-click automatic leveling. The printer's sturdy all-metal chassis and high quality core XY structure help Adventurer 5M maintain stability even with accelerations of up to 20000 mm/s².

The Adventurer 5M is an open chamber 3D printer that is ideal not only for seasoned users but also those who are just beginning their adventure with 3D printing. Adventurer 5M has a build volume of 220 x 220 x 220 mm, an extrusion temperature of up to 280 ºC and a maximum build plate temperature of 110 ºC. This allows Adventurer 5M to work with materials such as PLA, PETG, TPU, as well as carbon fiber reinforced PLA and PETG (with a nozzle of at least 0.6 mm), and high speed filament.

Main features

The printing surface of Adventurer 5M is a flexible removable PEI steel plate (replaceable). This type of build surface makes it easy to remove the 3D printed part by slightly bending the build platform. To make the Adventurer 5M more accessible to users, Flashforge has equipped it with an automatic leveling system. The printer's advanced leveling system samples the nozzle height with respect to the build plate and automatically compensates for any differences.

Adventurer 5M is equipped with a direct drive extruder with an upgraded fast-heating high-speed nozzle (quick-release mechanism) with a flow of 32mm³/s. The fast heating (200 ºC in  35 seconds) boosts the printer's performance with flexible filaments and also allows for high printing speeds (up to 72 % time gains over Adventurer 3 or 4). Furthermore, thanks to the vibration compensation feature and an enhanced cooling system (fan and dual-channel air structure), Adventurer 5M prints parts with a smooth surface (no ghosting) and impeccable first layers.

To make the user experience as smooth and comfortable as possible, Flashforge has equipped the Adventurer 5M printer with numerous features that ensure the printer's efficiency and user's safety. Thus, Adventurer 5M has a power loss recovery function that allows the user to continue the last printing project once the power is back up. What's more, Adventurer 5M has a filament runout sensor so that the user can replace the filament on time and avoid failed prints due to lack of material.

Adventurer 5M offers connectivity via USB, WiFi, Ethernet and Cloud. The compatible laminating software is Flashprint, Cura, Prusa Slicer as well as Orca Slicer (settings required). With the native FlashPrint laminating software it is possible to perform multi-device control, manage print classification or monitor the print status remotely. Adventurer 5M has a user-friendly interface displayed on a 4.3" touchscreen.

Recommended environments

This 3D printer model is ideal not only for professionals but also for those who are just making their first steps in 3D printing and want equipment that is easy to use and automatized but also reliable.
