Domestic FDM 3D printers with a cubic structure and an excellent value for money.

Creality is a company specialising in the design and production of 3D printing related products. Undoubtedly, this company is known for having some of the best-selling 3D printers on the market, due to its great value for money. Creality offers a wide variety of quality 3D printer models that adapt to the user's needs and at a much lower cost than other brands.

The Ender-5 3D printer series has several models of 3D printers, which undoubtedly stand out for their excellent value for money, offering outstanding features and quality within the domestic 3D printer market.

Creality Ender-5 3D printers have aluminium structures, which provide stability to the machines. This feature stands out compared to other 3D printers in the same price range, which have lower quality plastic structures. This point is decisive and directly affects the quality of the 3D printed parts.

Creality 3D printers are Opensource, so they can print with materials of any brand. In addition, they allow the use of any lamination software.

The Creality Ender3 models available are:

Ender-5 Pro

Ender-5 Plus

Ender-5 S1

Ender-5 Pro

The Ender-5 Pro 3D printer stands out at first glance for its cubic structure, something not very common in the range of low-cost FDM 3D printers. In addition, it has a double Y-axis. This robust structure provides great stability and improves precision when 3D printing.

Its printing volume is 220 x 220 x 300 mm, which allows the user to produce good-sized parts.

Printing surface: Ender-5 Pro features a removable printing surface that makes it easy to remove 3D printed parts.

Metal extruder: Ender-5 Pro has a metal extrusion unit that allows for fluid material feeding and improves print quality. This 3D printer uses bowden-type extrusion, which, together with its stable structure, allows printing at high print speeds.

Fluid feeding: This version features Capricorn Teflon bowden tubing, ensuring higher temperature resistance and smoother material extrusion.

Print restart: Creality Ender-5 Pro allows printing to be resumed after a power failure, reducing the rate of failed prints.

Ender-5 Plus

The Ender-5 Plus 3D printer maintains many of the qualities of the Ender-5 Pro, although it has some improvements over that model.

Larger volume: First of all, its printing volume is larger, being 350 x 350 x 400 mm, a large volume that allows 3D printing of large parts.

Dual Z-axis: To improve stability and achieve a smooth and fluid movement of the print bed, Ender-5 Plus has a dual Z-axis.

Touch screen: Ender-5 Plus enhances the user experience with a 4.3" touch screen that offers intuitive and easy control of the device.

Print surface: Ender-5 Plus features a removable carborundum glass print base that allows for high material adhesion and easy removal of 3D printed parts when the surface cools.

Sensor BL_Touch

Self-leveling: This 3D printer includes a BL-Touch leveling sensor that automatically adjusts the distance from the nozzle to the printing surface.

Ender-5 3D printers are delivered in kit format. These kits are very easy to assemble. In addition, Creality offers the user videos of how to carry out the assembly (they can be seen in the "Downloads" section).

For all their features and value for money, these 3D printers are ideal for beginners. It should be borne in mind that the user can add updates and improvements as needed.

Ender-5 S1

Ender-5 S1 has a sturdy all-metal chassis with thick linear shafts, extra gussets, two cantilevers and silicone bed mounts. With the Ender-5 S1 3D printer it is possible to print at temperatures of up to 300 ºC and speeds of up to 250 mm/s, which reduces printing time and power consumption. The upgraded motion system allows for 2000mm/s² acceleration and each X/Y/Z axis is driven by a high-precision stepper motor. Tests carried out with the Ender-5 S1 printer have shown a 100 % success rate for 1000-hour printing at 250 mm/s at 0.2 mm layer height.

The hotend of the Ender-5 S1 3D printer has been adapted to the need of high-temperature printing (up to 300 ºC) with materials such as ABS, PC, ASA or HIPS. The titanium alloy heatbreak is characterized by low thermal conductivity for blocking heat creep. The corrugated heatsink with a 2.5x surface area is rapidly air-cooled by a silent axial flow fan. Ender-5 S1 is also perfect for printing with flexible materials thanks to the all-metal Sprite direct dual-gear extruder that delivers a powerful and uniform 80 N extrusion force.

Thanks to the special Urus air ducts, the strong wind generated by a large 5015 fan is channeled to cool the freshly deposited polymer. This leads to immediate material hardening, less drooping and reduced warping caused by overheating. This, in turn, results in better bridges and overhangs, and overall improved detail.

The build surface of Ender-5 S1 is a PC spring steel sheet with a magnetic base. The frosted PC surface helps adhesion and the bendability facilitates mdoel removal. The Ender-5 S1 is also equipped with CR-Touch automatic leveling.

The user manual can be found on the SD card included with the 3D printer. In addition, Creality offers a multitude of content on its youtube channel, where the user can find tutorials on assembly, maintenance or modification of the 3D printer.

Due to the nature of this product, should the user require support for this product, we may have to refer the user to the manufacturer. In addition, 3D printers sold in kit format do not have a guarantee of operation, as it depends on the correct assembly by the user.
