Resin for stiff and tough medical device applications with great tensile and flexural properties.

The MED9851 resin from the Loctite portfolio of healthcare materials is a high-performance, high modulus material with exceptional tensile and flexural physical properties, and compatible with a wide range of LCD/DLP printers. Combining stiffness with toughness, it serves as an ideal choice for impact-resistant healthcare applications like medical devices, orthotics, prosthetics, eyewear, and medical equipment components. Its adaptability to body temperature (or higher) ensures reliable performance and patient comfort, while its exceptional surface finish and machinability enhance its processability.

Certified for biocompatibility in cytotoxicity, sensitization, and irritation (ISO10993-5, ISO10993-10, ISO10993-23), the MED9851 resin meets stringent health and safety standards for medical use.  Nevertheless, it must be kept in mind that the ultimate biocompatibility depends on the correct processing of the material and must be verified for each application.

Parts 3D printed with this resin have also passed eyewear tests (ISO 12870) for resistance to perspiration, mechanical stability, ignition, and optical radiation, confirming its reliability in specialized applications. Its mechanical properties, evaluated against thermal influence (ASTM D638), assure consistent performance across varying conditions. For detailed technical specifications, the material's technical datasheet, available in the Downloads section, provides essential information for informed decision-making in specific applications.
