Zortrax is a Polish company founded in 2013 and focused on the development of professional 3D printing systems. Its main strength is the excellent optimisation and integration between its 3D printers, materials and software. This greatly simplifies the entire printing process, minimising set-up times and reducing the likelihood of failure to a minimum, making them ideal systems for professional environments.

In addition to its renowned range of filament LPD 3D printers, it also offers professional solutions for resin printing. The Zortrax Inkspire is one of the most compatible LED-LCD printers thanks to the large number of built-in profiles from manufacturers such as Harz Labs, Bluecast, Power Resins, Druckwege, Ameralabs, Applylabwork, Dreve or Siraya.

Zortrax currently offers a range of materials dedicated to sectors such as dental and jewellery thanks to partnerships with renowned manufacturers such as Bluecast and Raydent.

Dental Model Type D is a resin intended for the production of dental visualisation models. This resin has been produced by the German manufacturer Druckwege and validated by Zortrax for its Inkspire 3D printer.

Its texture and finishes similar to plaster, together with its beige colour and matte finish, facilitate the visualisation of all the details of the model, avoiding annoying glare.

It provides excellent surface quality, with imperfections below 150 um, which allows models with an excellent level of detail to be obtained. It also has a shrinkage of less than 0.5 % and models made with Dental Model Type D have high dimensional stability.

This resin is designed for making models of teeth and dentures on which to validate crown or bridge prototypes, or on which to plan interventions. It is not a biocompatible resin and cannot be used inside the oral cavity.

Once the part has been printed, it should be washed and excess resin removed using isopropyl alcohol. Once washed, it should be left to air dry completely. Compressed air can be used to speed up the process.

When the part is completely dry it can be cured with UV light at 405 nm to obtain the optimum properties.

To maintain the level of detail, it is important to protect the parts from light until they are washed and completely dry.
