LCD screen protective kit for XiP Nexa 3D
The official LCD protective glass replacement kit for the XiP 3D printer by Nexa 3D contains everything the user will need to safely and correctly replace the protective glass on the XiP LCD screen:
The protective glass must be replaced if it is scratched or cracked as this kind of damage to the protective glass can result in the perforation of the Everlast 2 Membrane.
The protective glass covering the XiP LCD screen has to be replaced if it is cracked or scratched as it can puncture the Everlast 2 Membrane. To replace the protective glass the user will need all the elements included in the kit. The protective glass should be replaced in a dust-free environment and with protective gloves put on (to avoid leaving smudges on the LCD screen), following 6 steps demonstrated in video 1:
First, the old protective glass should be removed from the XiP LCD screen by peeling up the corners using the provided straight edge tool.
Next, the LCD screen should be cleaned thoroughly with the provided alcohol wipe and microfiber cloth, and any remaining dust should be removed with dust removal stickers.
The included guide stickers should be stuck to the top side of the new protective glass to hold it while peeling off the adhesive backing from the underside of the new LCD screen.
Next, the long side of the protective glass should be lined up with the black tape along the edges of the LCD screen. It is important to note that the protective glass should not overlap the black tape.
As it lays down, the protective glass should be rubbed back to front with the straight edge tool to avoid bubbles.
Once the protective glass has settled, the straight edge tool should be used to remove any remaining bubbles.
Now the protective glass has been replaced and the LCD screen can be installed back to the printer.
