Colfeed4Print's FCer family of materials includes the FCer Al2O3 pellets, an innovative material with a PLA base filled with a 73 wt. % / 44 vol. % of alumina (aluminum oxide) nanoparticles. The pellets come in a format of 60 g, an equivalent of 10 meters of 1.75 mm FCer Al2O3 filament. Each pellet has a mean diameter of 840 nm, and the alumina particles have surface area of 7.81 m²/g, and a density of 3.97 g/cm³. Parts 3D printed with the FCer Al2O3 pellets offer the benefit of turning into a 100% alumina part upon sintering at 1500 ºC, offering unparalleled versatility in crafting customized bone-inducing scaffolds and other structures.

Alumina is characterized by exceptional hardness, a high melting point, and chemical inertness. Alumina scaffolds, underpinned by their inherent biocompatibility and resistance to corrosion, provide a robust foundation for stimulating bone growth and supporting regeneration in orthopedic and dental contexts. Leveraging these attributes, the FCer Al2O3 pellets empower the advancement of regenerative medicine, offering a transformative solution for precise and effective tissue engineering applications.

For optimal printing results, adhere to the following printing recommendations: maintain an extrusion temperature of 158-175 ºC, with a bed temperature ranging from 30-60 ºC. A printing speed of 20 mm/s and a layer height exceeding 0.2 mm are advised. To safeguard the integrity of the pellets, store them in a dry, shaded environment within the temperature range of 5-30 ºC. More 3D printing and sintering tips can be found in the technical datasheet and printing recommendations document in the Downloads section.
