BEDROCK 3D PPSU is an industrial-grade, heat-resistant, and flame-retardant filament designed for projects where reliability and durability are non-negotiable. This material is ideal for applications requiring extreme dimensional stability, chemical resistance, and high-temperature performance.

Extreme heat resistance

The BEDROCK 3D PPSU filament withstands temperatures up to 220°C short-term and 180°C continuously without deformation. It is the perfect choice for parts exposed to high-temperature environments where other plastics such as nylon, polycarbonate, POM, or PET fail to meet performance standards.

Flame-retardant properties and industrial safety

BEDROCK 3D PPSU is inherently flame-retardant with a V0 rating according to UL 94, ensuring safety and industrial compliance in critical applications such as the aerospace, railway, and automotive industries.

Durability and dimensional stability

Thanks to its high creep resistance and rigidity even at high temperatures, 3D-printed parts with BEDROCK 3D PPSU offer excellent interlayer adhesion and balanced mechanical strength between the Z and X axes. This eliminates the typical limitations of conventional FFF printing.

Chemical and fluid resistance

This filament is highly resistant to hot water, coolants, fuels, hot oils (up to 170°C), and detergents. Its chemical stability makes it ideal for components in contact with aggressive fluids or extreme working conditions.

Certifications and professional applications

  • Complies with EN 45545-2 for railway applications.
  • Approved for food contact, ensuring safety and versatility.
  • Compatible with autoclave sterilization (steam at 134°C).
  • Perfect for the aerospace, railway, and medical industries.
  • Works as a support material for high-temperature 3D prints, such as PEI filaments (ULTEM™ 9085).

Conclusion: the best choice for critical projects

BEDROCK 3D PPSU redefines what is possible in industrial 3D printing. Its combination of thermal resistance, mechanical durability, flame-retardant properties, and chemical stability makes it the ultimate choice for critical parts in extreme environments.

To ensure superior quality and consistent industrial performance in 3D printed parts made with BEDROCK 3D PPSU filament, it is recommended to use an optimized printing setup for this high-performance material. The filament should be extruded at a nozzle temperature of 390-410 ºC, with a heated bed at 200-220 ºC. The recommended print speed is 40-80 mm/s to achieve excellent layer adhesion and maximum dimensional stability. The ideal nozzle diameter is ≥ 0.4 mm. The best build surface is a glass plate or a reinforced build sheet capable of withstanding high temperatures.

BEDROCK 3D PPSU filament is designed for high-temperature 3D printing applications, making moisture control essential to guarantee optimal mechanical and thermal properties. Protecting filaments from humidity by storing them properly is key to achieving professional results. Before and after printing, the filament should be stored in its original packaging or in a vacuum-sealed bag with a desiccant capsule for filaments inside to maintain integrity and prevent moisture absorption.

Alternatively, it is recommended to use a vacuum-sealed container or a smart filament container to extend the material’s lifespan. During printing, the filament should remain protected in a closed system such as the Fiber Three drying case or in an inline filament dryer that maintains stable conditions.

If BEDROCK 3D PPSU absorbs excessive moisture, it should be dried in a vacuum dryer at 125 ºC for 8 hours to restore its optimal state before printing. This process ensures that the material maintains its thermal resistance, dimensional stability, and high-level mechanical properties, which are essential in demanding industrial, aerospace, and technical environments.

With the right setup and effective preventive maintenance, BEDROCK 3D PPSU filament delivers unbeatable results in high-performance 3D printing, making it the best choice for components exposed to high temperatures, mechanical stress, or chemical environments.

It is recommended to read the product’s technical datasheet, available under the Attachments tab, before use.
