The Rapid PLA+ filament from ELEGOO is specifically formulated to deliver enhanced performance and faster, more reliable 3D printing on compatible FDM printers. Thanks to its molecular optimization and strict dimensional accuracy, this material ensures a constant and trouble-free flow during the feeding and extrusion process. Rapid PLA+ stands out for its high thermal fluidity, allowing the material to absorb heat quickly and melt and extrude uniformly even at high printing speeds. This makes it possible to complete projects in less time without compromising surface finish or overall part quality.

The extremely strict dimensional control of the filament prevents diameter variations and reduces the likelihood of jams or interruptions during printing. Each spool is mechanically wound with secondary sub-winding and manually inspected to ensure uniform distribution and minimize tangling. Models printed with Rapid PLA+ feature a smooth surface with fewer visible layer lines, improving the aesthetics of functional parts and prototypes. The PLA+ formulation also provides superior mechanical strength and flexibility compared to standard PLA, enhancing the durability of finished parts and reducing brittleness compared to conventional materials with similar characteristics.

This filament is compatible with most FDM technology 3D printers that accept 1.75 mm filament, enabling confident use across a wide variety of printing platforms. Each spool is vacuum-sealed with desiccant to protect the material from moisture and dust, simplifying storage and immediate use after opening. It provides a smoother final surface with good layer adhesion and reduced line visibility, and it is made from biodegradable material derived from renewable resources, making it environmentally friendly.

As with any PLA+ material, the preparation of the printing environment and slicer settings directly influence final quality and result repeatability.

  • Storage conditions: store the filament in a dry, low-humidity environment; the material is supplied sealed with desiccant to prevent moisture absorption before use, reducing bubbles and clogs.
  • Printing temperatures: set the nozzle within a range of 200 °C to 230 °C (recommended ~220 °C) and the build plate between 35 °C and 65 °C, depending on the print surface.
  • Printing speed: take advantage of the improved flow for higher speeds, up to ~250–600 mm/s if the printer and configuration allow, adjusting retractions and accelerations to minimize artifacts.
  • Bed adhesion: using surfaces such as textured PEI, glass with a suitable adhesive, or PLA+-specific spray can improve first-layer adhesion and reduce warping.
  • Calibration and fine-tuning: properly calibrating flow, retraction, and bed leveling in the slicer helps avoid common issues such as under-extrusion, stringing, or poor first layers.
