The PLA Pastel from Smart Materials is a high-quality filament characterized by its good mechanical properties and ease of printing, making it perfect for those who are new to the world of 3D printing. With PLA Pastel, parts can be printed in a variety of attractive pastel colours such as mint, lavender, quartz, aqua, and vanilla. Ideal uses for this material include prototypes, decorative objects and figures, large parts, and architectural models.

PLA Pastel is part of the Smartfil PLA filament family and is made with high-quality biodegradable PLA. PLA (polylactic acid) is one of the most widely used 3D printing materials as it stands out for its ease of printing and can be used in open printers. One of the many advantages of PLA is that it does not produce warping and does not require high printing temperatures (190-210 °C), so a heated bed is not needed. PLA Pastel shares all these characteristics.

PLA Pastel is made with high-quality PLA, meaning it has 99% purity, without any recycled or reclaimed material. Additionally, it is fully stabilized and has a diameter variability of +/- 0.03 mm, so parts made with this filament exhibit truly incredible resolution and smooth layers thanks to the matte finish.

To prevent moisture absorption, store PLA Smartfil in a dry, sealed plastic bag with a filament drying capsule or in an airtight container. Inline filament dryers are recommended during printing, and if needed, drying the filament at 50 ºC for at least 4 hours before printing will ensure optimal print quality.
