Recommended Printing Parameters

The optimal nozzle temperature range is 280 °C to 310 °C, ensuring proper material fusion and flow. The bed should be maintained between 70 °C and 80 °C for firm initial adhesion. The print chamber can remain at room temperature, and the layer fan should be off to promote proper crystallization. Printing speed can reach up to 250 mm/s, adjusted according to geometry and desired precision.

Printer and Nozzle Compatibility

The Fiberon PET-GF15 is compatible with most professional 3D printers, provided that wear-resistant nozzles are used. Due to its glass fiber content, brass nozzles wear out quickly (approximate lifespan of 9 h). It is recommended to use hardened steel or ruby nozzles to maintain uniform extrusion and protect the print head.

Moisture Control and Storage

This filament is moisture-sensitive and should be stored in dry conditions with relative humidity below 20%. Before printing, it is advisable to dry the material at 100 °C for 10 h to remove absorbed moisture and prevent defects such as bubbles, stringing, or poor layer adhesion.

Annealing Recommendations

Annealing is not mandatory if the application does not require thermal resistance above 80 °C. However, to improve dimensional stability and heat resistance, annealing at 120 °C for 16 h can be performed. For best results, follow these guidelines:

Do not handle or apply load on the part during annealing.
Ensure uniform temperature in the oven, avoiding obstructions or uneven heat zones.
Keep supports on parts with bridges over 3 cm or large overhangs to prevent warping.
Reinforce thin areas (less than 4 mm) with ribs or increase thickness for better stability.
Place parts in the oven in the same orientation as printed, preferably on the base plate.
It is normal for parts to slightly lighten in color after annealing due to increased crystallization.

Color and Surface Considerations

During printing, slight variations in tone or surface gloss may be observed, a result of the material’s natural crystallization. This phenomenon does not affect mechanical properties or final quality. Parts maintain a clean, matte, professional finish.
