Vortex EZ Dyeing station Xioneer
The Xioneer Vortex EZ dyeing station is an affordable, safe and efficient desktop dyeing solution. By means of continuous fluid agitation and heat, the Vortex EZ dyeing station dyes parts 3D printed with the SLS, SLA, FDM, MJF or SAF technologies. Thanks to its compact size and ergonomic design, the Vortex EZ dyeing station can be used in a variety of work environments such as offices, workshops, laboratories, classrooms and even production floors. Some examples of materials than can be dyed with the Vortex EZ dyeing station are PA, PU, TPE, Acrylic, Polyester, ABS, PEEK, PEI, PP or PC.
The Vortex EZ dyeing station is durable and made from high quality materials to ensure long and reliable operation. The tank is made of high-grade, double-walled stainless steel in a matte finish with additional thermal insulation to ensure maximum efficiency and higher durability. The lid of the Vortex EZ dyeing station has a special protective element to keep the user's fingers safe from escaping steam. Thanks to the drain valve conveniently placed on the side of the device, the fluid from within the tank can be drained in quick and clean manner without the need to move the dyeing station.
The agitation of the dyeing fluid is performed by a strong magnetic propeller powered with a silent brushless motor, which ensures quiet operation. The fuild in the 38 L tank is heated with the help of a powerful heater that can reach the maximum temperature in approximately 1 hour, consuming 1360 W. The consumption goes down to 250 W once the dyeing liquid has reached the desired temperature. The temperature can be adjusted with a dial button within a range of 30-85 °C.
The stainless steel basket has an integrated stand for clean, compact and effective usage even in small spaces. The basket dimensions are 450 x 260 x 205 mm, which is larger than the build volume of most conventional 3D printers. This gives the user the freedom to dye parts of considerable size or many parts at once. The parts should always be placed within the basket for dyeing, as placing the parts directly in the tank can damage the parts as well as the propeller.
As for the dye, the manufacturer recommendes using the TCN GTC universal liquid dye or the famous RIT Dye. The dyeing time will largely depend on the desired color intensity, and can range from a few minutes to a few hours. The dyeing temperature should be adjusted to the properties of the dyed part, always with the properties of the build material of the part in mind.
The Xioneer Vortex EZ dyeing station is a convenient and affordable dyeing solution that allows the user to dye parts 3D printed with various 3D printing techniques in a quick, simple and clean way. The Vortex EZ dyeing station will prove an ideal addition to the post-processing workflow even in small spaces due to its ergonomic design and the big basket, fast heating and powerful propellers will make the dyeing process efficient.
The Vortex EZ dyeing station is very easy and safe to use. The manufacturer walks the user through the process in a short YouTube video:
It should be kept in mind that the dyeing temperature should not exceed the glass transition temperature of the build material of the 3D printed part and the dyeing time should be adjusted to the desired color intensity.
