These food-grade blue nylon 11 pellets are a FGF 3D printing material used for direct extrusion or filament production. The blue PA11 pellets have a particle size of 0.05-0.10 mm. It should be noted that polyamide material absorbs water-based dyes very well, so it could even be dyed, which is not recommended if you want to maintain the properties for contact with food on the part.

They are certified to comply with European regulations No. 10/2011 and No. 202/2014 governing the manufacture of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. It also stands out for its excellent mechanical properties and high resistance to high temperatures.

A unique feature of this material is the very small size of the particles, which makes the pellets look like powder. However, these blue PA11 pellets are intended for FGF 3D printing and cannot be used in SLS 3D printing equipment, as there is a risk of damaging the SLS 3D printer.

The best equipment for processing PA12 pellets is the Mahor V4 pellet extruder or the Tumaker 3D printers or Piocreat for direct extrusion. Tumaker 3D printers in the dual extrusion variant are especially suitable for printing with PA11 pellets as a support material, even in combination with filament. It is also possible to manufacture filament from food-grade blue PA11 pellets with the help of the Felfil EVO extruder or the Filastruder.

Applications

When talking about materials suitable for food contact, the first application that comes to mind is the production of food packaging. However, the food industry requires this type of material for the manufacture of components and tools for its production systems.

It is precisely this last application that benefits most from the properties of PA11 BlueCare. The manufacture of components or tools intended for food production lines requires not only compliance with the regulations of the sector, but also good mechanical properties that guarantee the resistance and durability of the components, something that this material perfectly fulfills. In addition, due to its color, it is easily detectable in case of detachment of fragments due to breakage, thus adding an extra safety.
