Micro Swiss Silver Brass Nozzles are wear-resistant components available for a myriad of 3D FDM printers (MK8, CR-10S Pro, Ultimaker 3, Ultimaker S5...). Micro Swiss is an American brand that designs, develops and manufactures components for FDM 3D printers, specialized in nozzles and reinforced hotends.

This nozzle is manufactured from 360 brass alloyed with silver and a TwinClad XT coating applied after machining. Brass is the largest thermal conductor for nozzles, allowing to make parts of high surface quality. Silver is the component responsible for improving the most unfavorable point of the brass, low wear resistance.

But what really makes this nozzle remarkable is the TwinClad XT coating. TwinClad XT is a nickel compound developed to offer a very low coefficient of friction (0.08), lower than even PTFE nickel alloy. On the other hand, adding this nickel layer causes an increase in abrasion resistance, increasing the manufacturing power of the 3D Printer FDM and the lifespan of this nozzle.

The MK8 version of the nozzle is compatible with a wide variety of 3D printers and hotend: MakerBot Replicator (1, 2, 2x, 5th Gen, Mini, z18), CraftBot 2 and PLUS, BQ Witbox, BQ Prusa I3 Hephestos, Creality CR-10 (S5, S4, S, MINI), Ender 2 and 3, TronXY X5S, Tevo Tornado, Anet A8, Alfawise U20 and U30, Snapmaker 3-in-1 3D Printer, Geeetech (A10, A20, A30), Micro Swiss All Metal Hotend for CR-10 (M2583-04) and Micro Swiss All Metal Hotend for CR-10s Pro (M2591-04)

In addition to the nozzle types available, there are many other nozzles compatible with the following 3D printers: RepRap 1.75 mm, RepRap 2.85 mm, MK10 PTFE Lined M7, LulzbotHexagonHotend, Robo3D HexagonHotend, Wanhao i3 Mini,Wanhao MP Select Mini, High Flow 1.75mm, High Flow 3 mm, Afinia, Zortrax, AfiniaAll Metal Hotend, ZortraxAll Metal Hotend, UP Box, Afinia H800, Wanhao D5, PrintrbotUbis and MK9. After using some filament containing carbon fibers, metal, wood, ceramics..., you have to remove it and insert the Smart Clean cleaning filament, to avoid subsequent jams.

The nozzle must be changed by following the steps in the manufacturer's installation manual for each printer. Once the nozzle is changed, the base should be leved to ensure that the first layer is printed at the correct height.

When installing the ultimaker 3/S5 nozzle on the aA print core, the procedure should be performed very carefully as these changes are not covered by guarantee.

The steps to follow are:

  1. Download the printcore filament.
Raising the printcore temperature to 160 - 180 ºC.
  2. Turn off the 3D printer and immediately remove the printcore.
  3. (Critical step). The mouthpiece should not be touched with your hands as the printcore is still at a very high temperature that could cause burns. Hold the heated block of the printcore with a pliers or wrench and a 7 mm glass wrench unscrew the nozzle, careful not to burn. Immediately after removing the old nozzle, place the new one and tighten enough, without forcing.
