The DiamondBack hotend for Bambu Lab printers, developed in collaboration by E3D, DiamondBack, and Bambu Lab, is a premium hotend for 1.75 mm filament that serves as a direct replacement for models such as the X1E, X1 Carbon, P1S, P1P, A1, and A1 Mini thanks to its mounting dimensions, which are identical to the Bambu Lab hotends.

Officially approved and licensed by Bambu Lab, this hotend assembly comes in 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, and 0.8 mm nozzle diameters, providing versatility for various print resolutions and speeds.

Ultimate Abrasion Resistance

Designed for high-temperature performance, the DiamondBack hotend operates at a maximum of 320 ºC on the X1E and 300 ºC on the X1C, P1P, P1S, A1, and A1 Mini. It is specifically optimized for printing abrasive materials such as carbon or glass fiber filaments and metal- or ceramic-filled filaments.

The key feature of this hotend is its nozzle, which incorporates a real diamond insert rather than just a diamond coating. This design ensures superior wear resistance, setting it apart from other nozzles on the market.

Polycrystalline Diamond Tip

The Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) tip of the nozzle offers unmatched durability by combining thousands of diamond crystals with a proprietary binder, creating a structure that retains the hardness of diamonds while minimizing brittleness.

This makes the DiamondBack hotend ideal for printing engineering-grade materials with fiber, metal, or ceramic reinforcement. The PCD structure also enhances longevity, significantly extending the nozzle’s life even under intensive use with abrasive filaments.

Benefits Across Industries

In addition to its exceptional wear resistance, the DiamondBack hotend provides top-tier thermal conductivity, improving layer adhesion and strengthening printed parts. Its polished diamond tip delivers a low-friction surface, resulting in ultra-smooth top layers with an ironing-like effect, giving prints a premium finish.

The DiamondBack hotend is a powerful tool that transforms Bambu Lab 3D printers into machines capable of printing reinforced polymers with carbon, glass fiber, ceramic, or metal fillers. This upgrade enables the production of durable, high-strength parts for demanding applications in aerospace, automotive, energy, medical, and more.
