Print heads for the Raise E2CF

Print head for E2CF

The E2CF 3D printer by Raise 3D was designed especially for printing with carbon fiber reinforced filaments. Printing with carbon fiber filaments offers strength and lightness to the pieces but it takes a toll on the extrusion system due to the abrasiveness of the carbon fiber in the filament and the specific thermomechanical properties that CF filaments have. This is why the extrusion system of the E2CF 3D printer has a special dual gear direct extrusion system designed to facilitate printing with CF filaments.

The E2CF print head contains high hardness steel gears. They are durable and resistant to wear. The gear teeth are optimized to firmly grip the carbon fiber filament for stronger extrusion, which helps to avoid flaking of filament. The two gears fit tightly together, which reduces the risk of filament slipping during extrusion.

Since the Raise E2CF 3D printer has an IDEX extrusion system, there are two print heads available for this 3D printer - a left print head and a right print head. Printing with two print heads has various advantages. It allows printing in mirror mode, in duplicate mode, with soluble support materials, as well as in multi-material mode.

The left print head also comes in a version with an auto leveling system, which allows for even better precision and saves time when using the E2CF 3D printer, since there is no need for manual adjustments.
