Bondtech is a manufacturer of extrusion systems for FFF 3D printers, renowned for its extruders based on BMG technology (Bondtech Mini Gears). All Bondtech products stand out for their high modularity, as well as the availability of retrofit kits for the main printers on the market.
Designed to minimise the form factor as much as possible, the Bondtech LGX Lite extruder is based on the LGX Large Gears eXtruder using Bondtech's new Dual Drive technology with larger drive gears (Ø18mm 56.52mm circumference).

This implementation results in an even larger contact surface with the filament (specifically, an increase of 50%). And since a larger perimeter allows more teeth to be in contact with the material, the extruder can use higher traction forces without the risk of damaging the filament (especially in the case of flexible filaments).

The new LGX Lite extruder has an even more compact and lighter design than its predecessor. This makes it easily adaptable to almost any type of printer. In addition, the extruder body features different hole patterns which make it easier to change settings when dealing with different accessories.
Like the LGX, the LGX Lite extruder includes a tension adjustment system based on a calibrated 3-position selector (open, rigid, flexible). It is no longer necessary to use a screw to adjust the extruder tension, simply select the appropriate dial position.
Among the many features of the Bondtech LGX Lite extruder are the following:

The housing parts have been professionally 3D printed in polyamide 12, ensuring maximum strength, precision and resistance to high temperatures. In addition, the use of chemical dyes has been dispensed with by providing the parts with a protective wax coating to reduce sensitivity to moisture and grease, while remaining fully functional.
The new Bondtech LGX Lite extruder is the light alternative to existing extruders on the market, maintaining dual-drive technology with larger drive gears.

The LGX Lite eXtruder is the second Bondtech extruder to feature a tensioning mechanism that includes an easy-to-use lever for users to adjust the tension according to the 2 available settings.

- Position 0: Facing the extruder, push the lever all the way to the left. Position used to feed or release filament without pressure from the drive gears.
- Position 1: Facing the extruder, push the lever all the way to the left and then 1 position to the right. Use this configuration to work with rigid materials.
- Position 2: Facing the extruder, push the lever all the way to the left and then 2 positions to the right. This position is suitable for working with semi-flexible and flexible materials.
This system ensures high repeatability and allows for quick change of settings when changing material.
The LGX Lite extruder should only be used with a 36 mm round stepper motor with a 10-tooth motor gear.
