Evolv3D™ OBC filament is one of the materials offered by 3DXtech, a renowned North American manufacturer specialising in technical filaments for professional applications.

Evolv3D™ OBC (Olefin Block Copolymer) is an engineering grade polyethylene copolymer. The Evolv3D™ OBC filament is a breakthrough in polyethylene 3D printing and eliminates many of the problems associated with 3D printing polypropylene-based materials.

OBC polyethylene is semi-crystalline and has excellent chemical resistance. Thanks to its properties and its low density of 0.95 g/cm3, this material makes it possible to 3D print lightweight and exceptionally durable parts for various industries and applications that require the use of a lightweight, chemically resistant material.

The most outstanding properties of the Evolv3D™ OBC filament are:

  • Superior chemical resistance.
  • Flexibility and fatigue resistance
  • Excellent layer bonding.
  • Very low density, 0.95 g/cm3.
  • Low moisture absorption.
  • Virtually no odour emission during printing.

As a result, Evolv3D™ OBC filament enables the printing of lightweight and exceptionally durable parts for medical, drones, boats, automotive or any application that benefits from the use of a lightweight, chemically resistant material.

The Evolv3D™ OBC filament should be printed at a temperature between 160 and 200°C. The recommended bed temperature is between 60 and 100°C.

To ensure good adhesion to the printing bed and to avoid warping, it is recommended to use Magigoo.

In case you have an FDM 3D printer with dual extruder and require 3D printing of complex parts, it is possible to use this material in combination with AquaTek™ X1 UMS, a hot water soluble material.
