Polycarbonate pellets with carbon fibres for rigidity and UV resistance.

PC is an amorphous thermoplastic polymer with a transparent finish. It is characterised by its durability (high impact strength) and heat resistance, and is easy to process by moulding or thermoforming. In addition, it has good resistance to flame, oils, greases and solvents.

It is widely used to manufacture electronic and electrical related products, food packaging, toys, office equipment, glass frames or engineering products.

The added carbon fibre (CF) ensures rigidity and dimensional stability, which considerably reduces the risk of warping.

Nanovia PC CF pellets are made of carbon fibre reinforced polycarbonate. Unlike standard polycarbonate, Nanovia PC CF is UV-resistant and can be used with direct exposure to the sun or a heat source of up to 120 °C.

  • PC CF pellets can be used in the manufacture of filament for FDM 3D printers using Filastruder or any other filament extruder.
  • It is possible to use a pellet extruder for 3D printing directly.

With the combination of PC CF pellets and a good filament extruder such as Filastruder, it is possible to obtain 3D printing filament with qualities similar to those of a commercial filament.

When using PC CF Pellets to make filament with a filament extruder such as Filastruder or using a pellet extruder for direct 3D printing, it should be noted that the extrusion temperature must be regulated in relation to the extrusion speed used. For optimal results, it is recommended to read the product's usage tips.

PC CF materials are hygroscopic materials. They should be stored in vacuum-sealed packaging or in a drying case, such as the Fiber Three drying case, available in the F3 Safe Light or F3 Safe Long Run version.
