Table 1: Comparison of parameters between 3D printers from the Kobra 2 series. Source: F2P.

All 3D printers from the Kobra 2 series were designed for 1.75 mm filament, offer the same extrusion temperature of 260 ºC, and are equipped with the same build surface (flexible steel plate with a PEI surface). Nevertheless, other parameters vary between the models. The table above resumes properties such as printing speeds, build volumes, heated bed temperatures, dimensions, weights and connectivity options to facilitate choosing the right model for the user’s needs.

Kobra 2

The Anycubic Kobra 2, significantly faster than many other FDM printers, offers ample space (250 x 220 x 220 mm) for creating complex parts suitable for domestic use and enables up to 70% time savings. The compact and robust but elegant design includes a sleek black aluminum alloy chassis, engraved plastic parts, and a dynamic structure with double metal spindles, SG15 bearings, a stable double Z-axis, and a double-threaded rod structure. This configuration ensures reduced lifting resistance and a level build platform for superior print quality and stability, even at high speeds (max. 250 mm/s).

The Kobra 2's upgraded extrusion system features a direct extruder capable of 60 W, enhancing filament flow and precision. The dual-gear extrusion mechanism provides accurate material delivery, while the optimized cooling system, with a fan speed up to 7000 rpm, accelerates print shaping. The printer's magnetic PEI-coated spring steel plate is scratch- and wear-resistant, facilitating easy part removal and reducing maintenance needs. Safety and efficiency are prioritized with features like a filament runout sensor and power loss resume function. Pre-assembled modules enable quick setup, allowing users to start printing within minutes.

Kobra 2 Max

The Anycubic Kobra 2 Max, about 10 times faster than standard models, boasts a large build volume of 420 x 420 x 500 mm, accommodating models up to 88 liters in a single print, making it ideal for large-scale projects. The spring steel magnetic platform ensures easy part removal and reliable first-layer adhesion. Equipped with a direct extruder and a dual-motor dual-Z-axis motion structure, the Kobra 2 Max efficiently delivers high quality parts thanks to the optimized extrusion and cooling systems.
