With Snapmaker 2.0 devices, users can unleash their full creative potential with a powerful tool that allows them to 3D print, CNC carve, engrave or laser cut a wide range of materials.

Snapmaker 2.0 - 3 in 1 builds on the initial Snapmaker model, the original Snapmaker. In this new version, some features have been improved, but also new functionalities have been added to create a new generation of multifunctional tools that are faster and more powerful than ever, available in different formats to suit every user's needs.

Snapmaker 2.0 3 in 1 is much more than a 3D printer. It consists of a system of powerful modules and add-ons with which the user can achieve different manufacturing options to optimise their workflow, saving costs, time and space.

3D printing

The 3D printing module turns the Snapmaker 2.0 3-in-1 into a powerful FDM technology 3D printer with which the user can produce parts from a multitude of materials.

As a 3D printer, Snapmaker 2.0 has some differentiating features, such as:

  1. Automatic levelling: The levelling of the printing bed is a process that can be complicated, especially for inexperienced users. It is also a very important part of the 3D printing process, as poor levelling can negatively affect the final result of 3D printed parts. To simplify the levelling process, Snapmaker 2.0 has an automatic levelling function.
  2. Filament detection sensor: The Snapmaker 2.0 3D printer detects when filament runs out, allowing material to be replenished and preventing the 3D printer from continuing the manufacturing process without filament, resulting in unfinished parts.
  3. Improved cooling system: Cooling in a 3D printer is extremely important, especially when using materials such as PLA. Therefore, Snapmaker 2.0 has an improved cooling system that allows the printing of deep overhangs and achieves smoother surfaces.
  4. Flexible platform: To facilitate the process of removing parts from the manufacturing platform, Snapmaker 2.0 has a removable and flexible magnetic printing base. To remove 3D printed parts, the user simply pulls out the printing base and flexes it until the parts detach.

CNC machining

Snapmaker 2.0's CNC machining module allows you to carve or cut a variety of materials, providing incredible results.

CNC machining is ideal for precision carving or cutting of hard materials. With Snapmaker 2.0 3 in 1, the user is not limited to working with plastic or soft materials, but can use materials such as hardwood, PCB, acrylic, POM, carbon fibre sheet and many other materials in their projects.

Some characteristics of the Snapmaker 2.0 CNC machining module are as follows:

  1. ER11 adapter: Ensures better concentricity for faster CNC milling speed. In addition, it is compatible with more than a hundred carving and cutting bits to achieve different finishes.
  2. Scrap board and clamping kits: Snapmaker 2.0 3-in-1 includes an MDF scrap board and clamping kits. The scrap board is removable and protects the bed from damage. It also provides a smooth, level surface for optimal CNC machining.
  3. Dirt resistance: The CNC machining module is designed for easy maintenance. The spindle, chip driver and precision parts are completely hidden under aluminium alloy housings, eliminating the problem of dirt build-up and ensuring longer machine durability.

Laser engraving and cutting

Snapmaker 2.0's laser engraving and cutting module allows laser engraving and cutting of a multitude of materials, including paper, plywood, leather, acrylic, cardboard, paper, fabric and even foodstuffs such as biscuits and coconuts.

The most relevant features of the laser engraving and cutting module are the following:

  1. Built-in camera: The built-in camera allows the user to preview their design on the material or object they wish to work on. Thanks to the camera, the user can edit their design and position it precisely where they want it to be. This avoids unpleasant surprises and produces optimum results.
  2. Faster engraving: Snapmaker 2.0's laser engraving and cutting module includes "line mode", which offers a much faster engraving option that is perfect for engraving greyscale images. This functionality can save hours of engraving time without sacrificing quality.
  3. Aluminium grid base: The aluminium work surface is specially designed to prevent damage to the bed by defocusing the laser beam during the laser cutting process. This aluminium surface is removable.

Snapmaker 2.0 Housing

In addition, Snapmaker 2.0 - 3 in 1 includes a locking structure or housing made of aircraft-grade aluminium and an acrylic laser filtering sheet, designed to protect the user and prevent possible eye injuries during the laser engraving or cutting process.

The housing has a folding door mechanism that takes up less space than other structures and reduces the risk of breakage of the acrylic panels. It also includes LED strips, an extractor and an extraction duct.

When a door is opened, the engraving or laser cutting process stops automatically. In turn, when all doors are closed, the machine resumes engraving or laser cutting via the touch screen.

The general functions of the Snapmaker 2.0 housing are:

  • Laser filtering.
  • Noise reduction.
  • Odour/smoke reduction.
  • Dust proof.
  • Create a safe and stable environment.
  • Avoid warping effect when 3D printing.
  • Avoid potential risks.

Proprietary 3-in-1 software

Snapmaker 2.0 3 in 1 is a powerful, tailor-made software, which has been improved over time through the release of different versions.

Throughout these releases, features such as 3D printing / engraving / cutting / carving of multiple models, SVG editing, relief carving and multi-language support have been added, and various Snapmaker user requests have been included.

Wi-Fi connectivity

Snapmaker has equipped its Snapmaker 2.0 3-in-1 machines with Wi-Fi connectivity and USB port. This way, the user can conveniently connect and upload designs via Wi-Fi or USB flash drive and print, carve, cut or engrave at the touch of a button.

In addition, the firmware can be updated directly via Wi-Fi.

Intelligent touch screen

Traditionally, machines such as 3D printers, laser cutters or CNC milling machines did not pay enough attention to the human-machine interface. Snapmaker, however, has included in its machines a very intuitive smart touch screen that simplifies the workflow of each project.

This screen is similar to a smartphone and has a size of 5 inches. It is equipped with a 1.1 GHz quad-core A7 CPU, running under the Android operating system, providing a fast interface.

Print retrieval

Occasionally, a power failure can result in a print failure. For this reason, Snapmaker 2.0 3 in 1 automatically detects this problem and resumes execution at the point where it had stopped. In this way it is possible to recover any project and obtain optimal results in any of the three manufacturing options offered by the machine: 3D printing, CNC carving, or laser cutting or engraving.
