High-strength and impact resistant rigid resin for prototyping or functional parts.

The Protowhite Rigid resin from the Phrozen portfolio of engineering materials is a white resin designed for LCD 3D printers in collaboration with BASF Forward AM. The Protowhite Rigid resin was created for industrial designers to 3D print in-house prototypes efficiently during the design validation phase before moving onto the manufacturing stage.

Like all Phrozen resins, the Protowhite Rigid resin is a low-odor and low-viscosity resin that offers a smooth and efficient 3D printing experience. The parts 3D printed with the Protowhite Rigid resin are characterized by high impact resistance and high strength, which makes this material ideal for prototyping and various engineering and industrial applications such as mechanical parts, jigs and fixtures

Elongation at break (%) 15
Tensile strength (MPa) 57
Tensile modulus (MPa) 2300
Flexural strength (MPa) 94
Flexural modulus (MPa) 1920
Surface hardness 8

Once opened, Phrozen Protowhite Rigid resin must be stored properly to prevent degradation of the resin. To achieve the desired properties, parts 3D printed with Protowhite Rigid resin must be post-processed. The parts must first be washed in IPA alcohol or any other authorized resin cleaning liquid and then post-cured under UV light. Washing and curing can be done with the help of devices such as the Phrozen Cure & Wash Kit or the Cure XL or Cure Mega curing devices.

More information on the maintenance of Phrozen resins and post-processing of 3D printed parts can be found in the Manual in the Downloads section.
