ABS resin with excellent flexural and tensile properties, great for outdoor uses.

Nexa 3D specializes in designing and manufacturing of ultrafast mSLA (LSPc) 3D printers and high-performance 3D printing resins. The xABS3843-Black resin was created in collaboration with Henkel and is powered by the Loctite materials. The xABS3843-Black resin is characterized by excellent flexural and tensile physical properties, a relatively high degree of elongation at break, high green strength (uncured parts) and good HDT.

Parts 3D printed with the xABS3843-Black resin demonstrate an ABS-like stiffness and high-detail surface quality. Tests were conducted on the xABS3843-Black material by Henkel where samples 3D printed with the xABS3843-Black resin were submitted to weathering, thermal aging and chemical resistance (100 hours and 500 hours of submersion in water, IPA alcohol, NaOCl 5, salt fog, motor oil and hydrogen peroxide) tests. The results showed great behavior of the resin in terms of tensile and impact properties of the samples. The detailed results of these tests can be seen in the technical datasheet in the Downloads section.

The xABS3843-Black resin is a durable and resistant material that will be ideal not only for the manufacturing of weather-proof and chemically resistant jigs and fixtures but also for end-use parts intended for outdoor uses or for making design verification models and functional prototypes with high surface quality. The potential application environments for the xABS3843-Black resin include automation machinery or robotics. The benefits of the Nexa 3D ultrafast resin 3D printing technologies will ensure ultrafast production to meet the most demanding deadlines and conveniently manufacture one-off parts or series on-site, thus also reducing manufacturing costs.

Parts 3D printed with the Nexa 3D xABS3843-Black resin will achieve their specific properties only after being subjected to post-processing by washing and curing. If applicable, the support structures must be removed from the part before curing and the part must be washed. Nexa3D recommends 2 wash intervals (2 minutes each) in IPA alcohol or xClean. It is recommended to use two buckets in the cleaning process, especially when working with multiple resin colors, to prevent resin residue from sticking to the part.

Once washed, the parts 3D printed with the xABS3843-Black resin must be dried and then cured either with the help of an LED or wide spectrum lamp, or in the Nexa 3D Wash+Cure station developed especially for the washing and curing of parts 3D printed on the XiP 3D printer. The recommended washing, drying and curing times can be consulted on the manufacturer's website for each Nexa 3D resin.

Certain precautions must be taken when working with 3D printing resins. The user must ensure that the working space is adequately ventilated, and that protective goggles, gloves and garments are worn at all times. The xABS3843-Black resin should be stored in a tightly closed container/resin vat to avoid resin deterioration due to UV exposure. The container/vat should be kept in a cool, well ventilated area away from heat, sparks and open flame.
