Low shrinkage, flame retardant PETG filament ideal for printing tough and soft parts.

Smart materials is a Spanish manufacturer dedicated to the development and production of filaments for 3D printing, which has an extensive range of excellent quality products.

INNOVATEFIL® PETG FP filament is composed of modified Copolyester Glycol with flame retardant additives based on halogens and red phosphorus.

PETG is a thermoplastic copolyester (extruded polyethylene terephthalate glycol copolyester). Unlike PET filaments, it does not crystallise on heating and therefore has high toughness and flexibility in addition to its good chemical resistance and transparency.

Filaments made from PETG are a modified version of the simpler PET, a non-toxic thermoplastic polymer used in the manufacture of clothing and products such as containers. PETG filaments are a good alternative to any ABS or Nylon, due to their low melting temperature and durability.

PETG FP filament is flame retardant, slowing the spread of fire because it does not ignite as easily as other plastics. With this filament it is unlikely that a fire would start in the event of a bad contact, electrical failure or contact with a heat source.

This filament is ideal for manufacturing flame retardant, soft and resistant objects. In addition, PETG FP meets the UL 94 standard that determines the tendency of materials to extinguish or spread the flame once a fire has been generated.

It should be taken into account that this filament is a hygroscopic material, so it is advisable to keep the PETG FP stored in a dry environment, inside an airtight bag or use desiccant bags to keep them free of moisture.
